New York, NY, June 19, 2007 - - Shunra, the world's leading provider of network simulation solutions, today announced version 3.0 of its Shunra VE Desktop client/server network simulation software. Designed primarily for developers, Shunra VE Desktop simulates a Wide Area Network (WAN) link, enabling users to test applications or code under a variety of current and potential network conditions - directly from their desktops or laptops - early in the development process. The new version includes a silent installation process, enabling quick and automatic enterprise-wide deployments of Shunra VE Desktop via any software distribution system. In addition, Shunra VE Desktop now supports the Microsoft Windows VistaT operating system. Shunra VE Desktop is now offered in two versions:
"Standard" for individual users and "Professional" for multi-user enterprise development teams. A free trial of the Shunra VE Desktop "Standard" is available at: http://www.shunra.com/network_simulation_trial_download

With the release of version 3.0, Shunra VE Desktop is the only network simulation solution that facilitates collaboration between the different enterprise IT teams to understand the performance impact that applications and the network have on each other during the development stage of the application lifecycle.  With Shunra VE Desktop, companies can now deliver higher quality applications that provide an exceptional user experience when the network impact is tested by development and QA teams.   Organizations that realize this include Boeing, General Dynamics, National Instruments, The Carphone Warehouse, Siemens, Texas Instruments, Washington Mutual, and Xerox.

"This new release is a direct result of our customers asking us to deliver a product that enables developers to understand how their applications will perform when exposed to real network conditions," said Thomas Charlton, CEO of Shunra.  "Building and testing an application without this information is similar to designing a car without knowledge of the terrain over which it will travel. The result is an application that, if it were a car, might have the performance of Ferrari with Hummer wheels.  Shunra is the only company with the technology to enable collaboration between those who develop the application and those responsible for providing the network over which an application's functionality is made available to the end user.  With the release of this version we are now providing a true enterprise-scale integrated solution that includes software, hardware and professional services."

Shunra VE Desktop is a Windows-based software solution that simulates a WAN link, enabling users to test applications or code under a variety of current and potential network conditions, including bandwidth, latency, and packet loss, directly from their desktops or laptops. With this insight, users can proactively determine real-life application performance over the network, find and fix problems, and determine capacity requirements during the development process. The Professional edition of Shunra VE Desktop enables test scenarios to be stored in a central repository and used by multiple users.

The new features of Shunra VE Desktop 3.0 are available for both the standard and professional editions, and are available immediately.

Shunra VE Desktop is part of Shunra's industry-leading family of hardware and software-based network simulation solutions. The Shunra VE solutions are the only suite of network simulation products in the industry that can support the application lifecycle at any organization - from small businesses to multinational enterprises.

In addition to Shunra VE Desktop, the family includes Shunra VE, its flagship solution for large enterprises. Shunra VE simulates a global network environment in the pre-deployment lab so that network and QA professionals can test the performance of applications and infrastructure under a wide variety of network impairments, topologies and technologies, as if they were running in a real production environment. The family also includes Shunra VE SMB Edition, a software version of the Shunra VE hardware solution specifically designed for the needs of small to medium-size businesses.
