June 11, 2008- Johnathan “Fatal1ty™” Wendel, the world’s best known professional gamer, has collaborated with iD Gaming Academy to develop an exclusive teen summer program called Camp Fatal1ty  http://internaldrive.com/idga/course_idga_pro-gaming.htm ™.   During
this 2-week program, teens will learn advanced Unreal Tournament® 3 skills from world-renowned professional gamers.  iD Gaming Academy has a site at Emory University.

How often can gamers get the opportunity to learn tips and even play against top gamers?  At Camp Fatal1ty students will have the once-in-a-lifetime experience of learning a variety of Unreal Tournament® 3 tactics and strategies developed by Fatal1ty and other professional gamers.  These strategies have been honed in international competitions.  Teens will test their new battle skills against classmates in tournament play.  Additionally, they’ll learn to create machinima and build highlight video reels of their best in-game moves and shots.  Besides learning how to create games, students can expect late-night NVIDIA®-hosted gaming tournaments and LAN parties. To further introduce teens to the world of gaming, students will tour a major game development studio and will learn first-hand how industry professionals create premier commercial games.  At the end of the course, each student will take home a Fatal1ty-branded keyboard.

“We want to partner with the best!  We chose the iD Gaming Academy to create Camp Fatal1ty”, said Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel, the world’s best known pro gamer.

Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel is hands down the most accomplished, professional gamer in history and is the breakthrough name and face of what has become a large scale, legitimate sport. As the world’s most famous gamer, he spreads enthusiasm wherever he goes and, in the process, has become the sport’s worldwide ambassador. Like any other professional athlete, he trains for hours a day and analyzes his performances by watching videos of himself in action–all with the goal of being the best in the world.

Winning the 2005 CPL World Tour Finals in New York City secured Fatal1ty’s twelfth Major Championship and tenth world title.  This was accomplished while competing in 5 different games - an unprecedented achievement.  His New York City victory earned him $150,000 and brought his 2005 total winnings to $231,000.  During his competitive gaming career Fatal1ty has placed 1st in 65% of all the competitions he has entered and top 3 in 90% of them.

“We are excited and honored to partner with Johnathan on this new initiative.  With this new collaborative offering, we continue to provide cutting-edge instruction to our teen gaming students.
Professional gaming is a fast growing profession”, said Pete Ingram Cauchi, president and CEO of iD Tech Camps. “We want to give teens the opportunity to make their dreams possible.”

Using the strategies they learned in the course, the winners of the national Camp Fatal1ty get the opportunity to go head-to-head with a professional video gamer.  The winner from the iD Tech Camps national Ultimate Gaming Weekend tournaments will also participate.
This Grand Finale Championship event will occur at UCLA on July 24th at
2 PM.

iD Gaming Academy and Fatal1ty are pleased to give 5 scholarships to the Boys and Girls Clubs to attend Camp Fatal1ty at the UCLA and Villanova University locations.  Additionally, another five scholarships to iD Tech Camps will be given to the Boys and Girls Club in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, Atlanta and Philadelphia.
At iD Tech Camps, ages 7-17 create video games, experience game modding, animate 3D characters, improve their gaming skills, design websites with Flash®, build robots, learning programming and more.  This weeklong, day and overnight summer program is located at over 50 prestigious universities in 23 states.

Camp Fatal1ty™ is a 2-week course for ages 13-17, held at Stanford University, UCLA and Villanova University this summer.  Space is still available at some sessions.  Visit the iD Gaming Academy (www.iDGamingAcademy.com) website for complete details and to register for this exclusive course.  A priceless course, the program costs $3,499 and $300 for optional weekend stays. Don’t just play Unreal Tournament 3, play the Fatalt1ty way!
