Mindbridge noted in magazine survey

Philadelphia-based intranet software company Mindbridge was on a recent list of the fastest-growing private companies compiled by Inc. Magazine.

Mindbridge's flagship product is IntraSmart.

Neoware appliances used at NYC college

King of Prussia-based software maker Neoware Systems Inc. said Jamestown Community College of New York installed Neoware's thin-client appliances.

Jamestown is replacing PCs with Neoware's thin client appliances, which store all applications and data on servers. By centrally administering the applications and appliances, Jamestown's IT staff can prevent students from downloading viruses or other unwanted applications.

Cadient buys pharma practice

Conshohocken-based Cadient Inc. acquired key pharmaceutical assets from InterMedia Interactive Solutions, a provider of Internet technology solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.

As part of the agreement, Cadient becomes the sole licensor of Virtual Liaison-Key Opinion Leader to the pharmaceutical industry. Virtual Liaison-Key Opinion Leader is a suite of applications that cultivates relationships with opinion leaders whose input is used in gaining clinical approval and acceptance of new brand offerings.

CoreTech gains contracts

King of Prussia, Pa.-based CoreTech Consulting Group LLC won contracts totaling around $600,000 to perform two projects.

One of the contracts calls for CoreTech to provide development and enterprise-application-integration services to a global human resources consulting company, said Irvine, Calif.-based Magic Software Enterprises Ltd.

The other calls for CoreTech to provide outsourced services for a new security tool deployment for a global pharmaceutical company, Magic said. CoreTech did not identify either of the companies.

Philly Coke picks Harbor Technologies

Mt. Laurel, N.J.-based Harbor Technologies was chosen by the Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Co. to create a communications platform that increases employee mobility and functionality while reducing telephone charges.

The system, based on Cisco System's Call Manager technology, simplifies management by replacing the seven traditional PBX phone systems at Philly Coke's locations in Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey with one centrally administered system. Harbor designed and implemented an extensive network upgrade to a multi-gigabit backbone using redundant fiber optic cabling at the headquarters and dual T1 connectivity to Philly Coke's remote locations.

Wavecom, Airdesk team up on product

Philadelphia-based Airdesk, a maker of wireless data products, and Wavecom Inc. announced a one-year deal to provide a CDPD (cellular digital packet data) conversion kit that facilitates the migration to newer, more competitive wireless data standards.

The CDPD Conversion Kit converts wireless functionality from CDPD networks to technically superior GSM (Global System for Mobile)/GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) networks.

WPCS signs fiber-optic contracts

Exton-based WPCS International Inc. was awarded roughly $1.3 million in new contracts in California, where one of its major subsidiaries is located.

The company will provide fiber-optic connectivity for an airfield-lighting-control system for the city of Modesto, a specialty communication system for the Foothill-DeAnza Community College District; and an advanced audio-visual communication system and associated infrastructure for Folsom Lake College.

AccuWeather app wins competition

The AccuWeather.com Wireless Application was recently named the winner of the Mobile GamesFest, a competition featuring top wireless games and applications held at the iWireless World conference in Los Angeles.

The AccuWeather.com Wireless Application allows wireless users with color handsets to download AccuWeather's up-to-the-minute weather from their wireless provider.
