NetSuite among top CRM apps
Chicago-based NetSuite, Inc. said its NetSuite 9.1 solution was selected by ISM Inc., customer relationship management (CRM) strategic advisers and software reviewers, as a Top 15 CRM Small to Midsize Business Software Award winner for 2004. This is the first time that ISM has selected NetSuite to ISM's Top 15. In 2003, NetSuite was ranked Top 30. NetSuite's product offerings include NetSuite, Oracle Small Business Suite, NetCRM and NetERP. The Oracle Small Business Suite name is used under license from Oracle Corp.
MRC tool picked by IBM
Lombard-based Michaels, Ross & Cole's flagship application development tool, the MRC-Productivity Series was recently distinguished as ServerProven by IBM. The ServerProven mark represents software applications that have been installed and running on IBM eServer in a real world customer environment. This designation represents solutions that can help promote increased customer confidence-a proven application performing on the IBM iSeries.
Pendragon releases database platform
Libertyville-based Pendragon Software, a provider of database software for Palm OSR based handheld devices, released the latest version of Pendragon Forms Enterprise Edition. The product is a mobile database platform that enables users to create and deploy mobile database applications for Palm Powered handheld devices and smartphones as well as Web-enabled PCs. Pendragon Forms Enterprise Edition 4.0 introduces advances in user-interface customization and support for pictures in mobile database applications.
Cometa hotspots available in Seattle
Schaumburg-based iPass users now have access to Cometa Hotspots in Seattle area, including Barnes & Noble Bookstores, McDonalds restaurants, and Tully's Coffee Shops. Cometa Networks, Inc., a Wi-Fi wholesale network provider, said iPass service at Cometa Hotspots. Enterprise customers of iPass can now access the Internet at any Cometa Hotspot location, including coffee shops, restaurants, bookstores, shopping centers, office buildings, college campuses, and golf courses. The service, available to corporate customers through the iPassConnect service interface, allows any iPass user to take advantage of the growing network of Cometa hotspots to connect to their corporate networks at wireless broadband speeds with a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or PDA.
McGowan new Informance president
Northbrook-based Informance International, a provider of manufacturing performance management products, hired Sean McGowan as its new president as well as adding George Roberts to its board of directors. McGowan has more than 15 years in executive and CEO roles within the enterprise application software space. Roberts last served as the executive vice president, North American sales, for 13 years at Oracle.
IPRO uses Stellent technology
Chicago-based Stellent Inc.'s content components division, a provider of component technologies for managing, viewing, and transforming unstructured data, said IPRO Tech Inc., a developer of software solutions for litigation support that captures, indexes and analyzes litigation data, has embedded Stellent Outside In Image Export 7.7 and XML Export 2.3 for use in its IPRO ImageServer and IPROView products.
Interface releases new modules
Oak Brook-based Interface Software released three optional, market-specific add-on modules. The new modules, which are each sold separately, include: InterAction Matters, InterAction Opportunities, and InterAction Engagements. The InterAction modules automate a firm's internal business processes related to managing matters, engagements, deals, distribution lists, and sales pipelines.
Wolfram expands product licensing
Champaign-based Wolfram Research expanded its licensing options for CalculationCenter. The release of Network CalculationCenter and CalculationCenter for Students streamlines affordable group site access and offers students an inexpensive option for use on their personal computers. Wolfram Research makes technical computing software.
