ICICI Infotech wins ERP contract
Edison-based ICICI Infotech, a provider of information technology products and services, will implement its ERP II suite Orion at Backerhaus Veit Ltd, to streamline process and operations for the leading artisan bread manufacturer. Toronto-based Backerhaus Veit will use Orion to integrate Recipe Management, Production Scheduling, Lot Tracking, Sales and Forecasting information, to enable better decision making and faster response to market demands and changing customer needs. The ERP system will also enable the manufacturer to communicate with its North American customer base, made up of independent retailers, local chain stores, and larger regional and national chain store groups.
DotPhoto debuts wallpaper application
Bedminster-based DotPhoto, maker of the Pictavision application for mobile phones, and Verizon Wireless announced the launch of dotPhoto's new wallpaper application on Get It Now, Verizon Wireless' virtual store. MyWallpaper offers subscribers with select Get It Now capable phones to easily browse through conveniently labeled photo categories, such as animals, birds, art, music and sports and view multiple downloadable thumbnail photos.
Majesco working with Nintendo
Edison-based Majesco, a publisher of interactive entertainment products and developers of the acclaimed Game Boy Advance Video compression technology, announced two new applications for the Game Boy Advance. Wireless Messenger and Wireless Link technologies are scheduled for availability later this year pending licensing approval from Nintendo. Majesco's Wireless Messenger allows users to send instant text messages via their Game Boy Advance, while the company's Wireless Link allows consumers to play any game link-compatible multiplayer game.
UniPress product noted
Edison-based UniPress Software Inc., a maker of Web-based service desk automation software, said its FootPrints for eService product received the 2004 CRM Excellence award from Customer Inter@ction Solutions magazine. The award recognizes the year's most innovative products and services that significantly enhance the relationship between businesses and their customers. FootPrints for eService offers centralized multi-channel customer issue tracking, business rule and workflow automation, two-way email management, self-service online, knowledge management, and automated metrics and reporting.
Passport updates inField 2.0 wireless tool
Paramus-based Passport Corp., a maker of software applications that extend the real-time enterprise to the mobile workforce, introduced Passport inField 2.0. Passport inField delivers work-aligned mobile applications that automate and streamline field sales and service activities such as work order management, service call reporting, sales order entry, case and claims management and other tasks previously managed through paper-based, disconnected processes. New features in version 2.0 include capabilities for both connected and disconnected operation, ensuring user productivity and transaction integrity with session persistence (for intermittent wireless coverage) and transaction store-and-forward (for use when out of coverage or offline). These features translate into more productive field personnel, faster and more accurate transactions, and better served customers.
Audible, Penn State team up
Wayne-based Audible Inc., a provider of digitally delivered spoken word audio, and Penn State University have teamed up to offer the Audible.com Internet audio service at special pricing to Penn State students, faculty, and staff through Penn State's Computer Store. This partnership, at no cost to Penn State, allows members of the Penn State community to purchase individual Audible audiobook and subscription titles at a discount and the opportunity to join the AudibleListener monthly membership service on a free trial basis.
