Dorian launches Eventlogs.com
Atlanta-based Dorian Software Creations Inc. debuted www.eventlogs.com, a free information resource for network security professionals. The site is dedicated to sharing proactive event log management strategies to help network professionals meet the demands of current standards and requirements such as those of HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley. Dorian also released the Auditing Volume Analyzer, a free tool designed for network administrators to better estimate the volume of event log data being generated by their networks. The Auditing Volume Analyzer captures a picture of the storage demands associated with preserving event log data over time.
Maycott new Cinagen sales director
Norcross-based Cinagen Inc. named Donald J. Maycott as director of sales and marketing, representing its technology consulting organization. Maycott was previously with DJM Technology Services, where he was executive vice president of sales and marketing
MyQPU launches image forwarding service
Atlanta-based MyQPU unveiled a service at www.myqpu.com that lets camera-phone users forward images to other camera-phones, as well as being able to forward images to their private virtual albums. Users of the site purchase Image Forwarding Credits to forward their images to other members phones within their PIX and, to submit images to enter fun contests held by MyQPU and it's strategic partners. The IFC's broadcast the images at a cheaper rate than sending an MMS via the mainstream network tariffs.
InterMute picks SwiftCD
Atlanta-based InterMute Inc., developers of award-wining Internet filtering software, including AdSubtract PRO, selected SwiftCD for custom CD manufacturing and fulfillment solutions. As a result, InterMute's software products will now be available on backup CDs to be manufactured and shipped by SwiftCD, providing quick and reliable physical delivery of CDs to customers. Working in tandem with InterMute, CD contents for each InterMute product will also be updated 'live' on an as-required basis, as new versions of the software are released.
Agilisys buys NxTrend
Atlanta-based Agilisys Inc. bought Colorado Springs, Colo.-based NxTrend, which provides enterprise commerce management technology. The acquisition will expand Agilisys's wholesale distribution capabilities and provide an opportunity to establish the combined company as a global leader in the distribution software market. The combined companies will have more than 1,500 employees serving 7,500 customers in 31 countries and revenue approaching $300 million.
Raidtec USA announces management buyout
Alpharetta-based Raidtec USA Inc., a supplier of SAN and NAS network storage solutions, successfully completed a management buyout and separation from Raidtec Holdings Limited, a subsidiary of Plasmon PLC. Raidtec USA will continue to supply Raidtec data storage networking solutions, and may add the Plasmon line of optical storage products. The ownership transition will not affect current Raidtec customers. Raidtec USA will continue operating out of both the Atlanta headquarters and Sacramento, Calif., offices but will ultimately undergo a company name change yet to be determined.
Nonprofits Center buys job site
The Georgia Center For Nonprofits acquired OpportunityKnocks.org, a Web site that lists nonprofit jobs across the United States, for $253,753. The program is one of several assets put up for sale in January by The Management Center (TMC), a San Francisco-based organization that is closing. The site generates revenue from advertisers, who are nonprofit employers, with listings available free to job-seekers. Although OpportunityKnocks.org is a national program, the Center's other programs will retain their Georgia focus.
