SIUC joins academic grant program
Online survey provider WebSurveyor Corp. of Herndon, Va., said Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) joined WebSurveyor's Academic Grant Program. The program provides a renewable one-year product license for teaching and academic research to colleges and universities. Schools have unlimited access to the survey software, updates, and customer support that have a total commercial value of $250,000.
Law firm picks InterAction
Oak Brook-based Interface Software said Atlanta-based law firm Alston & Bird selected InterAction for its client relationship management (CRM) initiative. With 700 lawyers in five offices throughout the United States, the firm will deploy the system across the organization, providing lawyers, marketing professionals and administrative users with a centralized repository of relationship intelligence that will enable it to streamline operations while enhancing business development and client service. Interface also said Australian law firm Freehills chose InterAction to support its CRM strategy.
MusicNow launches service
Chicago-based MusicNow LLC, a provider of customized digital music stores and subscription services, announced the launch of Digital Music Clubs for Artists. to distribute music online. In conjunction with the product announcement, MusicNow signed a partnership with UltraStar Entertainment LLC, a provider of Internet marketing services to the music industry. The customized MusicNow Digital Music Clubs for UltraStar consist of a download store and memberships to a subscription service that will be promoted from each musician's Web site and complement the artist's design.
Dukane releases XGA document camera
St. Charles-based Dukane Corp. released the Camera 220, one of the first high-resolution XGA document cameras to be offered in a flexible gooseneck design. The camera 220 is a full-featured 1024x768 native resolution document camera with 15x zoom, florescent lighting, laser positioning, image capture and 16-picture internal memory storage. Connectivity includes component video, DVI out, VGA in through DVI, USB, and DC out. The 220 also includes VGA output for loopthrough capability.
Nexvu, Continental Resources team up
Schaumburg-based Nexvu Technologies announced a partnership with Continental Resources, a systems integrator, to help companies improve business performance through the use of application performance management (APM) technology.
The Nexvu solution delivered through the Continental Resources partnership enables companies to monitor how their IT environments are utilized and how well services are being delivered.
Stonewall picks IRMS Warehouse Management
Downers Grove-based Integrated Warehousing Solutions, a provider of supply chain execution solutions, said Stonewall Kitchen selected the IRMS Warehouse Management System to manage its distribution and logistic operations. Stonewall Kitchen is a manufacturer, retailer and distributor of gourmet specialty foods and high-end home products. IRMS will enhance and automate business processes at Stonewall Kitchen, from the receipt of raw materials through the shipping of finished goods to the end customer, including returns processing at the company's new Distribution Center in Rochester, N.H.
eNucleus buys TakGroup
Chicago-based software maker eNucleus Inc. acquired the TakGroup, Inc., a privately held Internet-enabled petroleum supply chain network. Under the terms of the agreement shareholders of TakGroup will receive 650,000 shares of eNucleus common stock over a three-year period. Established in 1996, The TakGroup provides comprehensive Internet-enabled supply chain management tools for suppliers and distributors of gasoline and diesel motor fuels, lubricants and the refined products market. TakGroup estimates $1.2 million in revenue and earnings of approximately $400,000 in 2004. eNucleus makes software products for companies in the healthcare, education, distribution, insurance and financial services markets.
