Myelin Media releases first title
New York-based Myelin Media, a newly formed entertainment software publisher, today announced its first title, "Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile" for PC will ship this fall. The title, based around city-building, was created by Tilted Mill Entertainment.
Grocer uses Symbol handhelds
Holtsville-based Symbol Technologies Inc. said supermarket chain Food Lion LLC has started using its technology at its first new Bloom store chain in Charlotte, N.C. Food Lion is letting shoppers use the Symbol PSS, or portable shopping system, handheld computer to scan purchases in the aisles. The device records the purchases and prices and keeps a running total of the cost during the shopping trip.
Technoprises forms subsidiary
New York-based Technoprises, Ltd., which makes end-to-end cross-media integration for seamless computing, announced its new subsidiary, Technoprises USA, Inc., based in New York City with sales and support staff located throughout the country. T-USA will be headed by Dr. Jerry Cahn, co-founder and former CEO of graphics services company Brilliant Image.
Intelli-Check teams with Anteon
Woodbury-based Intelli-Check Inc. signed an agreement with Fairfax, Va.-based Anteon International Corp. to allow that systems integrator to incorporate its identification-verification technology. The companies plan to integrate Intelli-Check's ID-CHECK software into Anteon's security applications for both government and private enterprise.
Diligent updates Insight
New York-based Diligent, a provider of extended enterprise management solutions, released Insight version 2.0, an extended enterprise management platform. Highlights of version 2.0 include alert notification, document repository, and collaboration tools.
Colligo supports IBM technology
New York-based Colligo Networks, a provider of instant networking software, announced support for the IBM Workplace Client Technology in its upcoming product, Colligo Enterprise Edition. Scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2004, the Colligo Enterprise Edition Plug-in will enable secure and private client-to-client messaging and database replication, extending a wide range of enterprise applications in the IBM Workplace Client Technology framework.
Park announces staff changes
Lake Success-based circuit board materials maker Park Electrochemical Corp. announced changes at the top levels of its marketing and technology operations.
Eddie Mok, country service manager in China, has been named Asia Pacific director of OEM Marketing and Technology. And Leena Gulia, who since 2001 has been OEM marketing engineer, was named senior OEM marketing engineer.
Park also said that Denis Boulanger, U.S. director of sales for RF/Microwave products, and Bob Nichols, European director of sales for RF/Microwave products, will become part of Park's global OEM marketing and technology team.
Secured Services gains funding
New York-based Secured Services Inc., a maker of identity and access management security softwars, closed a $7.0 million dollar institutional private placement. The proceeds will fund working capital and expand sales and marketing for the company's enterprise security software product, Identiprise.
Audiovox releases pocket PC phone
Hauppage-based Audiovox Communications Corp., a majority owned subsidiary of Audiovox Corp. and AT&T Wireless said the PPC 4100, an integrated wireless PDA phone featuring Windows Mobile software, was released in June. The PPC 4100 is a tri-band (850/1800/1900 MHZ) GSM/GPRS Pocket PC that allows international roaming capabilities and experience enhanced coverage. It runs Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PCs on a 400 MHz, Intel XScale technology based processor.
