Acronis updates Disk Director
San Francisco-based Acronis Inc., a maker of storage management
software, announced the launch of Acronis Disk Director Suite 9.0. The
package includes the industry's only dual-mode disk partitioning
capabilities for advanced and novice users, multiboot management, the
ability to recover lost or deleted disk partitions and their data, the
ability to edit disk drives at the sector level, and a unified, Windows
XP-like user interface that places all capabilities of the product on a
single screen.
Andale releases eBay tool
Mountain View-based Andale Inc., which offers eBay market intelligence
and auction management services, launched Research Pro, a downloadable
application that provides market research to high-volume sellers sell on
eBay. Andale Research, powered by Andale's proprietary Market
Intelligence technology, uses closed eBay auction data to provide users
with unparalleled information and intelligence on the eBay marketplace.
This research tool for high volume sellers is the first one of its kind,
and provides businesses looking at eBay as a potential high-volume sales
channel with detailed market information. These sellers are able to
research a wide range of inventory items at the same time.
Live365 releases Radio365
Foster City-based Internet radio network Live365 launched Radio365, a
new application-based Internet radio player for the Windows and Mac
platforms. Radio365 allows desktop access to thousands of Live365
stations, with many channels in full CD-quality and all without pop-ups
or other visual advertisements. Listeners can browse stations by genre
or search the network for stations that play a particular artist, album
or track and similar offerings.
Nortel enhances convergence portfolio
Santa Clara-based Nortel Networks announced enhancements to its
convergence-ready data product portfolio. These enhancements are
designed to simplify the transition from multiple voice and data
networks to a single converged infrastructure. This makes it possible
for small-to-medium businesses (SMB) and enterprise customers to have
greater integration with their customer and partner networks, regardless
of whether they are fully converged or at the initial stages of
migration. The new capabilities of the convergence-ready data portfolio
enable customers to fortify their local area networks (LAN) at their own
pace as they implement IP Telephony, video, SIP-based collaboration
applications and other technologies. Specifically, this allows customers
and businesses to realize the full promise of convergence via product
upgrades to security, resiliency, availability and fail-over
capabilities.
Macrovision debuts Flexnet Manager
Santa Clara-based Macrovision Corp. introduced Flexnet Manager, a
software asset management system that is designed to optimize the value
of a company's investment in various software application packages
through centralized license management and accurate usage reporting.
Available immediately, Flexnet Manager is an extension of Macrovision
Flexnet, the industry standard for software licensing. Macrovision's
software management products are in use by more than 800 enterprises,
including Ford, Northrup Grumman, Motorola, and Shell. FLEXnet Manager
consists of two modules: The Administration Module centralizes software
license operations, lowers administrative costs and improves
productivity for end users and administrators. The Reporting Module
optimizes the use of existing software licenses and planning for future
expenditures through centralized reporting of license usage.
Integnology gains SBA status
Santa Clara-based Integnology Corp., a provider of outsourced
engineering service nationally, has been awarded the designation of
Section 8(a) Business Development Program participant by the U.S. Small
Business Administration. At the same time, it has been certified as a
Small Disadvantaged Business in the Federal SDB program. Integnology
primarily operates in northern California and in the greater
Denver-Boulder region of Colorado.
