NuMatrix to offer Cisco training

Detroit-based NuMatrix, provider of information technology services and solutions, now delivers authorized Cisco training as a sponsored organization of Tech2000, a Cisco Learning Solutions Partner and a leading provider of e-learning solutions for business and technology skills. This sponsorship allows NuMatrix to offer its customers up-to-date, authorized Cisco training and Cisco Authorized Curriculum. NuMatrix is the only Sponsored organization proving authorized Cisco training in Detriot and Sri Lanka. Cisco content will be available in multiple formats over the Internet, including self-study and instructor-facilitated courses. After completing a course, students have an opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge in a real-world environment utilizing NuMatrix's in-house classroom racks. These racks provide access to real Cisco routers, switches and other devices, rather than simulations.

Enlighten Web project noted

Ann Arbor-based Enlighten received a silver Addy award for its work on a Flash-based consumer Web site for Audi of America's 2004 A8 L sedan. The site includes Envision and Explore sections. The Envision section offers interactive images and multiple angles of the vehicle. The Explore section allows the user to access instructional videos, animations and illustrations. The Enlighten site was one of only six projects to be recognized nationally in its category.

Gyro Creative completes Bodman Web projects

Detroit-based Gyro Creative Group completed two new Web sites for Detroit-based law firm Bodman L.L.P.. The main site, www.bodmanllp.com, offers an overview of the company, history, the names and phone numbers of attorneys and news releases. The other site, www.bankersonline.org, was created for the financial institutions that work with Bodman.

Texas company buys VulcanWorks

Austin, Texas-based Trilogy Software Inc., a private software and services company, acquired Ann Arbor-based VulcanWorks Inc., an automotive engineering software company, for an undisclosed amount. Trilogy's customers include Ford Motor Co., DaimlerChrysler and Nissan.

Oakland County to use Informatica software

Oakland County will use Informatica Corp.'s PowerCenter data-integration software to help with management of land records, public access for county records and other initiatives, county officials said. PowerCenter will allow Oakland County technology officials to take information from several different platforms and combine it into one data warehouse.

Strategic Staffing buys New Orleans company

Detroit-based IT staffing company Strategic Staffing Solutions Inc. bought New Orleans-based Ascent Consulting Group for between $1.5 million and $2.5 million, the company said. Stretegic Staffing said the purchase will add 16 clients to the company's stable.

Catuity expands IT offerings

Detroit-based Catuity Inc. will expand its offerings from products to include information-technology services. Catuity also said it acquired Denver, Colo.-based Vitesse Worldwide Inc., a company that specialized in information technology for retailers. Meanwhile, Scott Aicher, former CEO of Vitesse, joined Catuity as vice president of Catuity's new information-technology services group. Dion Gonzales, former chief development officer at Vitesse, will head sales for the new divisions. Catuity provides information-technology products and services to the retail industry to manage customer loyalty programs.

1010internet accounts sold to IServ

Grand Rapids-based Iserv Co. bought the eastern Michigan customers of Scottville-based 1010internet L.L.C. Iserv will acquire 1010internet's customers in Bad Axe, Bay City, Ubly, Standish and the surrounding areas. Customers will use the same dial-up access numbers and e-mail addresses.
