Netreach updates cmScribe line
Ambler-based NetReach said it had released its new cmScribe line of
products. cmScribe products are designed to easily facilitate the rapid
management of highly dynamic Web sites. cmScribe 3.0 is the latest
version of the NetReach Content Management System. The company said the
cmScribe system has evolved into a commercial application with robust
features such as user administration, access levels, digital asset
management, versioning and rollback, spellchecker, flexible template
design, WYSIWYG editing, a form designer, and site structure tools.
Tech park gains funding
The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs' Office of Smart Growth
awarded the Gloucester County Department of Economic Development and the
South Jersey Technology Park at Rowan University a $150,000 Smart Future
Grant, the Glassboro, N.J. The park will use the funds to develop a
master plan for its facilities, which will be located at Route 322 and
Route 55 in Mantua and Harrison townships.
Vantage Learning teams With Texas schools
Newtown-based Vantage Learning said its MY Access! instructional writing
program was selected as one of the packages for use in Texas schools as
part of the TIP program. TIP is a federally funded grant program that
leverages the state technology immersion pilot authorized by Texas
Senate Bill 396 of the 78th Texas Legislature. The primary goal of the
program is to increase student achievement by providing each student
with a wireless mobile computing device and other innovative
technologies to test the effectiveness of technology immersion in
increasing student achievement. MY Access! is a Web-based writing
environment that rapidly scores essays and provides immediate diagnostic
feedback to engage students and motivate them to write more and improve
their composition skills.
WPCS inks new contracts
Exton-based WPCS International Inc. said its subsidiaries were awarded
contracts for new projects totaling roughly $3.2 million for specialty
communication systems, wireless infrastructure services and general
contracting services. The company said work covered by the contracts
includes projects for Nextel Communications Inc., Bechtel Group Inc.,
Kohl's Corp., the California Department of Transportation, the
Sacramento Municipal Utility District, the city of Modesto, Calif., and
the city of Auburn, Calif. WPCS also said the project awards also
include three new contracts for the continued design and deployment of a
wireless network for an unnamed school district.
Kenexa software to be used on CareerBuilder.com
Wayne-based Kenexa, which develops human-resources software, and
CareerBuilder.com have agreed to integrate Kenexa's applicant-tracking
software with CareerBuilder's Web site and jointly market their
partnership. Kenexa said the integration will enable Kenexa customers to
expedite the recruitment process through easy access to qualified
candidates posting résumés and applying to jobs on CareerBuilder.com.
Delaware using Neoware products
The Delaware Department of Labor has replaced the personal computers
used by the public in its employment offices with thin-client appliances
made by King of Prussia-based Neoware Systems Inc. Wilmington-based
Versalign Inc. supplied the appliances to the Delaware Labor Department.
Terms of the transaction weren't disclosed.
PJM unveils new software
Valley Forge-based PJM Interconnection said its unit-commitment software
will save its customers $56 million a year. The company said it
implemented generation-scheduling software that will more precisely
schedule not only which generating units should be operating but also
which units need to be ready. PJM operates the electric grid serving
more than 35 million people in all or part of eight states and the
District of Columbia. The software is based on a mathematical approach
called mixed-integer programming that is considered more robust than the
techniques generally used in unit-commitment software.
