Pendragon releases PDA camera software
Libertyville-based Pendragon Software released new tools for Pendragon
Forms that enable mobile workers to use a wider variety of PDA cameras
for data collection applications.
Pendragon Forms attaches the photo to the database record, eliminating
the need for uploading and matching image files with data records on the
PC.
Mobile organizations can now deploy photo and data collection
applications on the latest devices. Pendragon Forms 4.0 has new controls
for cameras built into the palmOne Zire 72 and Sony Clie TH, UX and NX
series PDAs as well as a control for the Zire 71 camera. The enhanced
viewfinder is four times larger and the software can now handle larger
images.
Newer, OWC team up on iPod transmitter
Woodstock-based Newer Technology, Inc. and Other World Computing
released the NewerTech 'RoadTrip!' FM transmitter, an adapter that
allows iPod users to broadcast their favorite audio files from an iPod
through a car audio system using the 107.7 FM radio frequency.
The RoadTrip! FM iPod transmitter connects to a vehicle's 12-volt
cigarette lighter and has a 3.5-millimeter stereo jack that is
compatible with all four generations of iPods, the iPod mini and most
personal MP3 and audio players.
eNucleus licenses platform
Chicago-based software maker eNucleus, Inc. said PrimeWire, its online
benefits platform provider, has entered into a licensing agreement with
TM Hogan, the largest independent full service employee benefits and
financial services consulting firm in Hawaii.
eNucleus makes software via license and managed hosting for middle
market healthcare,education, distribution, insurance and financial
service industry companies.
Interface noted by magazine
Oak Brook-based CRM Magazine recently recognized Interface Software as a
2004 Market Leader at an awards ceremony at the DCI Customer
Relationship Management Conference & Exposition in San Francisco.
Interface Software was named a Market Leader in the sales force
automation category.
Interface Software ranked near the top in reputation for customer
satisfaction. On a scale of one to five, with five being the highest,
Interface Software received a score of 4.5, surpassing 38 other products
including Microsoft CRM, Siebel, SalesLogix, Oracle, Epiphany, Onyx,
PeopleSoft, Act and Goldmine. The judges made their decisions based on
a combination of weighted criteria, including revenues, revenue growth,
market share, reputation for customer satisfaction, and depth of
functionality.
State Senate sessions to be webcast
The Illinois Senate plans to start televising its sessions over the
Internet. The Senate is adding a $220,000 video system this fall so the public can
watch on the Illinois legislative Web site. It should be ready in time
for the Legislature's fall session, which begins Nov. 8. The Illinois
House begin offering video in 2000.
Thinkorswim gains $22.5 million in funding
A major Silicon Valley-based fund is investing $22.5 million in
Chicago-based online options brokerage Thinkorswim Inc. Technology
Crossover Ventures of Palo Alto, Calif. Is the investor.
Thinkorswim targets wealthy individuals and institutional investors such
as hedge funds and endowments that are looking to diversify their
portfolios.
The firm has about $400 million in assets under management and counts
more than 10,000 retail customers and more than 200 institutional
investors as clients.
Clients can use Thinkorswim to trade across the world's six major
options exchanges.
CCH renews partnership with LexisNexis
Riverwoods-based CCH Inc. and LexisNexis announced the renewal of their
long-standing relationship with a multi-year agreement that makes
LexisNexis the only source other than CCH to offer the full line of CCH
products on the Web.
Through the LexisNexis services at www.lexis.com, customers have access
to CCH's collection of in-depth tax, securities, financial services,
labor/employment, health care and other specialized content.
