Passlogix launches identity platform
New York-based Passlogix, a provider of enterprise single sign-on
technology, launched its new platform strategy, providing ESSO
functionality and supporting integration for enterprise-wide identity
management solutions.
The v-GO Platform improves authentication with single sign-on, providing
the means to adopt strong authentication technologies, like biometrics
and smart cards. The v-GO Platform is designed to integrate easily with
existing infrastructure.
Cirielli leaving Hauppauge Digital
Hauppage-based Hauppauge Digital Inc. said President and COO Dean
Cirielli resigned last month, citing personal and family reasons.
The company has no immediate plans to replace Cirielli. Hauppauge
Digital develops digital video TV and data broadcast receiver products
for personal computers.
Netsmart gains contracts
Great River-based Netsmart Technologies Inc. was awarded four contracts
valued at $965,000.
The supplier of enterprise-wide software for health- and human-services
providers said the contracts were issued to its Creative Socio-Medics
Corp. subsidiary. The new contracts cover licensing, services and
first-year maintenance of the firm's Avatar software.
John T. Mather Community Hospital, in Port Jefferson, bought Avatar CWS,
Creative's electronic health record system. Other companies that
purchased systems include Community Residences, a mental health center
in Arlington, Va.; Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, Billings, Mont.,
and Washoe County Department of Social Services, in Reno, Nev.
WatchIT releases ethics program
Syosset-based education-on-demand provider WatchIT released an
interactive program that walks business and technology executives
through the steps necessary to create a powerful ethics and compliance
program.
In the program, Compass Solutions founder Bruce Hamm explains why
organizations need a formal compliance program and explains how to
create one.
Murray new AXA IT head
Kevin E. Murray joined New York-based AXA Financial Inc., as head of the
IT Department's Application Continuity Team.
Most recently, Murray was senior vice president and group chief
information officer for the Domestic Brokerage Group and Personal Lines
companies of AIG, responsible for supporting all domestic
commercial/personal lines insurance products and financial services, 50
decentralized offices and 20,000 users.
Ransen releases graphics effects program
New York-based Ransen Software recently released Repligator V11, a
graphical effects program that runs on Windows 98/Me/NT4/2000/XP.
The company said Repligator is designed for people who want to quickly
create professional graphics for their albums, Web sites, multimedia
presentations or stationery with a minimum of fuss. Among the 10 new
effects in this version are Underwater, Motion Blur, Snow Flake, and
Psychedelic Watercolor.
VTS releases new GPS system
Deer Park-based Vehicle Tracking Solutions released Fleetminder a
customized GPS system.
The VTS Fleetminder system is a real-time GPS-based fleet management
solution that tracks moving vehicles from desktop computers. Companies
can view drivers' exact start and stop times.
Acclaim game maker to liquidate assets
Glen Cove-based computer game maker Acclaim Entertainment filed for
voluntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which would result in the liquidation of
the company's assets.
The company filed papers in U.S. Bankruptcy that estimated its debts at
more than $100 million and its assets at $10 million to $50 million. The
filing said it had more than 200 creditors.
Founded in 1987, Acclaim makes computer games such as "Showdown: Legends
of Wrestling", "All-Star Baseball 2005" and "Alias."
