Palmer new Lucid CEO
Ambler-based software maker Lucid Security of Ambler named Jonathan
Palmer as its new president and CEO.
Palmer previously served as CEO of Vital Processing Services in
Tempe, Ariz. The Philadelphia native once served as vice chairman of
Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia.
Lucid Security develops intrusion prevention software.
AwareNET launches IT services
Wilmington, Del-based Info Systems recently launched AwareNET. a
suite of services for monitoring network devices.
The Info Systems AwareNET solution offers levels of service to fit
any size business, and is highly effective for customers who have
multiple locations operating with high numbers of business critical
devices. Current customers include Wilmington Trust and Charming Shoppes
retailers.
ADSI gains GSA contract
Philadelphia-based Aligned Development Strategies Inc. was recently
awarded an 8(a) Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for
Services (STARS) contract from the federal General Services
Administration. The contract is a small business set-aside contract for
technology solutions.
ADSI is an IT services and Macromedia-certified training company
specializing in project management and strategic planning; Web
development and e-business; Internet and project management training;
e-learning; courseware development and instructional systems design;
information assurance and network management; and health care and HIPAA
compliance services
Postal service to use SAP software
Newtown Square-based SAP America Inc. has landed two contracts
totaling $35 million to provide and install software to manage the U.S.
Postal Service's human-resources operations, SAP and the Postal Service.
The Postal Service chose mySAP Business Suite to replace a
25-year-old system it developed itself.
An SAP unit called SAP Professional Services will perform the
implementation.
Iowa firm to use TruePosition product
King of Prussia-based TruePosition Inc. said I-wireless, an
Urbandale, Iowa-based wireless communications company, has agreed to use
its Finder system.
The system enables wireless communications companies to meet the
Phase II performance requirements of the Federal Communications
Commission's Enhanced 911 mandate. The requirements call for wireless
carriers to have technology that allows emergency dispatchers to find
the location of anyone making a 911 call on their systems.
Scanvec settles lawsuit
Scanvec Amiable Ltd. has settled a lawsuit it filed in August 2002
accusing some former directors and employees of stealing its
intellectual property and misusing confidential information.
As part of the settlement, former directors Jim and Yuan Chang
agreed to turn their shares in Scanvec Amiable over to the company.
Between them, they have about 1.8 million shares, which is roughly a
quarter of Scanvec Amiable's outstanding stock.
Scanvec Amiable designs, manufactures, markets and supports
high-performance software for the sign-making, digital-printing and
other graphics-intensive industries.
N.J. provides online access to insurers' performance
New Jersey consumers were recently given online access to the
performance of insurance companies.
At the department's site (www.njdobi.org) consumers can read or
download market conduct reports, see if company has been fined and
whether the department has made recommendations or ordered the firm to
remediate a situation or business practice. Information for 16 insurance
companies is currently available.
Life, health, property/casualty and managed care companies receive
on-site reviews to determine if they are in accordance with the state's
laws. As a result of current examinations, $18.6 million was returned to
policyholders and companies paid $275,000 in fines, the department said.
