DTE picks NetSuite for automation
San Mateo-based NetSuite Inc. said DTE Energy Technologies, a subsidiary
of DTE Energy Co. chose NetSuite to automate its sales and marketing
operations.
After standardizing its sales and marketing operations on NetCRM, DTE
has seen 20 to 25 percent time savings per month for its management team
and 10 percent time savings per month for its sales team.
InterVideo uses Asknet
San Francisco-based Asknet Inc., a provider of global e-commerce
services, launched InterVideo's Japanese e-commerce site.
InterVideo makes DVD software, including WinDVD 6, and other digital
video and audio multimedia software products.
Asknet's e-commerce solution for the Japanese market features an order
process adapted to Japanese business practices and Japanese-language
customer service.
Antec releases Phantom power supply
Fremont-based Antec Inc., a maker of computer hardware and accessories
for the upgrade and build-your-own markets, released Phantom, its first
completely fanless PC power supply.
Intended for noise-sensitive PC users and specialty applications, the
350-watt unit features ultra-high efficiency circuitry (85 percent
efficient) that reduces power consumption and excess heat, and an
aluminum casing that acts as a heatsink and eliminates the need for
noisy moving parts.
Acronis extends Singapore pact
South San Francisco-based Acronis Inc., a maker of systems software,
extended the contract of Singapore-based distributor TopAZ Solutions
Ltd. to sell Acronis systems management software to retail outlets in
Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Burma, Cambodia, Laos, and
Vietnam.
The contract also allows sales to corporate and small to mid-size
business users in those markets. Other terms of the agreement were not
released.
Socket releases WLAN software
Newark-based Socket Communications Inc. released its WLAN Tools Mobile
Edition software for its Low Power CompactFlash and SDIO Wireless LAN
cards for Pocket PCs.
The software provides a new graphical user interface with advanced
network monitoring capabilities for Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating
system as well as support for WPA (Wi-Fi protected access) and WPA-PSK
(pre-shared) security.
WPA offers enterprise-class security-an industry standard instituted by
the Wi-Fi Alliance-that combines strong encryption, message integrity
checking, and 802.1x authentication.
Pollack new Clairvoyante CEO
Cupertino-based Clairvoyante Inc., a licensor of unique pixel
architectures and algorithms that enhance the performance of liquid
crystal displays, named Joel Pollack president and CEO.
Pollack joins Clairvoyante from Sharp Microelectronics of the Americas,
where he served as vice president of the company's Display Products
Business unit.
Polycom teams with Microsoft
Microsoft Corp. and Pleasanton-based Polycom Inc. announced a multiyear
joint marketing and development agreement to deliver business-quality,
rich collaboration solutions across communication devices, applications
and services.
The initial offering, currently scheduled for release in late 2004,
combines the presence awareness and instant messaging capabilities of
Microsoft Office Live Communications Server and Windows Messenger with
Polycom's widely installed ViewStation EX, FX and VSX desktop and group
video conference systems; SoundPoint and SoundStation IP handsets and
conference phones; MGC voice and video bridges; and the WebOffice
conference portal.
