Siemens picks AlterPoint product

Austin-based AlterPoint Inc., a maker of enterprise network change and configuration management products, said Siemens Business Services selected AlterPoint's DeviceAuthority Suite to join its portfolio of services.

AlterPoint's DeviceAuthority Suite delivers change and configuration management solutions for network devices to assure the performance, availability, and security of its network infrastructure.

Additionally, DeviceAuthority Suite is part of the Siemens Business Services SieQuence solution, its flagship IT outsourcing service.

Eagle Broadband CTO quits

League City-based Eagle Broadband Inc. said Chief Technology Officer H. Dean Cubley left the company but will continue to serve as a member of the board of directors and as a consultant to the company.

As a co-founder of Eagle Broadband, Cubley served as the company's chairman and CEO until October 2003, when he became chief technology officer.

Eagle is a provider of broadband and communications technology and services.

CISSP.com plans security conference

Dallas-based CISSP.com is bringing the nation's largest certified information systems security professionals (CISSPs) gathering to Dallas.

The 2005 Information Security Professionals Conference is expected to draw more than 2,500 attendees and is scheduled for Jan. 13-15 at the Adam's Mark Hotel in downtown Dallas.

Systems Evolution buys consulting firm

Stafford-based IT services firm Systems Evolution Inc. bought Duration Software Inc., a business and technology consulting firm based in Austin.

The acquisition was valued at approximately $3 million with $450,000 in cash, $300,000 in subordinate debt and 15 million shares of Systems Evolution stock.

Defense agency selects Citadel for security project

Dallas-based Citadel Security Software Inc. said the Defense Information Systems Agency, part of the U.S. Department of Defense, has selected Citadel's Hercules software as part of an effort to address security issues involving the DoD's computer networks.

Citadel is a software company that helps repair security vulnerabilities on computer networks.

Hercules will be implemented across the Department of Defense and its agencies, the Coast Guard, National Guard and the Reserves, according to a news release from Citadel.

The implementation is part of a $10.3 million subcontract that DISA has with Herndon, Va.-based DigitalNet Holdings Inc., which will use Citadel's Hercules technology to ensure the privacy of the DoD organization's electronic systems and classified records.

AirGATE Technologies sold to employees

The Dallas-based X-Change Corp. sold its subsidiary, AirGATE Technologies Inc. to certain employees of AirGATE.

AirGATE Technologies designs and develops applications used in wireless and radio frequency identification deployments.

Along with the sale, all officers and directors of X-Change have resigned and new ones have been appointed: Dean Elliott, Robert Barbee, and Charles Stidham.

The offices of the company are now located at 2305 Cedar Springs Road in Dallas.

Dornheim changes name

Austin-based Dornheim Computer Consulting LLC changed its name to D&L Computing.

The company specializes in computer network and systems integration, installation and support for small businesses.

With offices in Austin and Spicewood, D&L will continue to service small businesses in the Central Texas region.
