PNY releases multimedia center

Parsippany-based PNY Technologies Inc. said it released its MC2 Multimedia Control Center. Based on the Nvidia Personal Cinema FX 5700 series, this multimedia hardware and software solution provides consumers with the ability to transform their desktop PC into a digital entertainment center.

The MC2 lets users customize their entertainment experience on their PC. Users can simultaneously watch and record live TV, watch DVDs and videos, manage and listen to MP3 music, create photo slide shows, and play 3-D games on their desktop PC.

Dovetail product adopted by German bank

Fairfield-based Dovetail Systems said its Party Search Engine (PSE), an automatic look-up facility that provides rapid access to bank information needed to qualify and repair payments, is in use at an unnamed global German bank. The product is being used to transform the bank's global payments architecture.

PSE is a multiple-database, single-party qualification data source. It provides the ability to simultaneously search any number of party databases, retrieve results based on unique and non-unique criteria, and return a single hit with the desired result or return an ordered list of results based on a configurable scoring system to unambiguously identify parties as they are commonly used within payments related messages.

Metrofuser adds parts to HP lineup

Roselle-based HP parts remanufacturer and distributor Metrofuser is now remanufacturing the HP LaserJet 4200 fuser. The fuser is available for the repair and return or the convenient advance exchange service options.

Metrofuser will be using OEM film sleeves as replacements and guarantees the fuser for both image quality and functionality for six months.

CMG plans 30th annual meeting

The 30th international meeting of the Turnersville-based Computer Measurement Group (CMG) proposes that enterprise Linux and Windows are ready for serious IT performance discussions. The conference takes place in Las Vegas, Dec. 5-10.

CMG members are experts at evaluating and deploying mainframe-based computer systems optimized for cost and performance. Members include professional performance management personnel from the largest corporations in the world.

StatementOne now goes by Albridge

Lawrenceville-based StatementOne, a provider of enterprise financial data consolidation and performance reporting, announced its name change to Albridge Solutions.

Incorporated in 1993, the company's original mission was to provide products that helped broker dealers overcome the challenges in selling products and organizing data. Since then, the company developed data consolidation and reporting products that led to the debut of an enterprise-level service and integrated reporting products.

IFPUG holds conference The Princeton Junction-based International Function Point Users Group (IFPUG) recently held its annual conference in San Diego, Calif.

Themed "Measuring Software, Achieving Results," the conference brought together industry experts, practitioners, and technology vendors for a six-day exchange of experiences and presentations on the latest happenings in the field of software metrics. Session topics ranged from software measurement certification and high-quality software metrics to systematic portfolio management planning and the power of function point analysis.

Tech companies receive grants

Two young technology companies-a software developer and an electronics designer who creates cameras for medical devices-have received a total of $500,000 in funding from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. The companies are based in the small business incubator program at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

Cyber-Extruder, a software development company, and Noble Device Technologies, an electronics designer, each received $250,000 from the NJEDA's Springboard Fund II Technology Grant program.
