RWD builds portal for Vodafone UK

Baltimore-based RWD Technologies Inc., which provides software, systems integration, and outsourcing services, delivered an e-learning portal for Vodafone UK.

RWD Technologies designed, built, and delivered the custom online learning portal, which is currently being used by members of Vodafone UK's corporate sales team. The learning portal is designed to provide a fully self-managed learning environment, and gives managers the ability to keep track of employees' capabilities with online assessments.

Proteus hires two

Washington-based Proteus Inc., a creator and developer of mobile entertainment and a unit of Telitas U.S. Inc. hired Tom Williams as director of carrier relations and Michael Maleski as client partner.

Williams will be responsible for further evolving and developing relationships within the mobile carrier community. He joins Proteus from Virgin Mobile. Williams was previously with Bell Atlantic Mobile and Airtouch Cellular.

Betrusted, TruSecure merge

Herndon, Va.-based Betrusted Holdings Inc. and New York-based TruSecure Corp. announced the completion of a previously announced merger.

The new company, known as Cybertrust, is the world's largest privately held information security firm, with 1,000 employees, 4,000 clients worldwide and $160 million in annual revenue.

Discrete updates SecureDisc 1.1

Arlington, Va.-based Discrete Technologies released the latest version of SecureDisc, a product that allows organizations to control access to sensitive, confidential, proprietary or classified information stored on CD and DVD media.

SecureDisc can be used with most authoring software and recorders to encrypt and automatically write ISO and UDF images to CD and DVD.

SureScripts teams with Rx Linc

Alexandria-based SureScripts, a network provider of electronic prescribing services, and Rx Linc, a national network connecting pharmacies with insurers, announced an agreement to connect Rx Linc's client pharmacies to the SureScripts Messenger Services network.

Rx Linc serves community pharmacies in 45 states with secure payer connectivity, data capture for market share rebates, and eRx editing.

CMS updates WorldLink

Springfield, Va.-based CMS Consultants Inc. released WorldLink version 3.8.

Enhancements to the middleware enterprise shipping solution include certification on ConnectShip Toolkit, specializing in UPS and other major carrier compliance. Other important features are the ability to ship using radio frequency identification tags, as well as, several other miscellaneous enhancements.

WebSurveyor releases Web polling Tool

Herndon, Va.-based WebSurveyor Corp., which makes do-it-yourself online survey tools, released a new Web polling tool. The fully customizable tool allows users to create a poll to be posted on a website at no charge.

Users can conduct an unlimited number of polls and can accept an unlimited number of responses at no cost. Every element of the poll is customizable, and results are collected instantaneously and displayed to the respondent.

Software conference planned

The Software Test & Performance Conference will be held Dec. 7-9, at the Hyatt Regency on the Inner Harbor, in Baltimore.

The gathering is a technical conference on testing and performance issues for software developers, development managers, as well as test/QA managers and senior test professionals.

AeA to host emerging tech forum

High-tech trade association AeA will co-host The AeA Emerging Technology Forum: Real World Applications for Today's Enterprise, presented in partnership with Strategic Communications Group Inc.

The one-day event will examine how three emerging technologies, VoIP, RFID, and high tech security tools, apply to real-world business. The forum will take place from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the Virginia Center for Innovative Technology in Herndon, Va.
