Universal Display to develop OLED technology
Ewing-based Universal Display Corp., a developer of organic light
emitting diode (OLED) technologies for flat panel displays, lighting,
and other opto-electronic applications, was awarded a three-year, $4
million cooperative agreement from the U.S. Department of Energy under
its new solid-state lighting program to develop and demonstrate novel
manufacturing technology for white OLED production.
The DOE is funding $2.4 million, or 60 percent of the cost of the
program, with the remaining $1.6 million being funded as "cost share" by
the company and its subcontractor.
Albridge, American Portfolios team up
Lawrenceville-based Albridge Solutions (formerly StatementOne), which
provides enterprise financial data consolidation and performance
reporting, will provide American Portfolios Financial Services with data
aggregation services for accessing information on client's held-away
assets.
Albridge Data Aggregation, powered by CashEdge, will bring American
Portfolio's client's held-away asset information into the Albridge
Wealth Reporting Solution. Typical held-away asset information includes
self-directed brokerage accounts, away asset management accounts, trust
accounts, pension plans, 401ks, and IRAs.
Majesco releases poker game for GameBoy
Edison-based Majesco shipped "Texas Hold 'Em" for Game Boy Advance. The
game allows players to practice and play against up to 10 computer
players anywhere they can take a Game Boy Advance.
Majesco's new portable version offers both a single-player experience as
well as a Career Mode where plays ultimately vie for the Texas Hold 'Em
national championship in Las Vegas. Along the way, a helpful password
entry feature allows players to save their bankroll for future games.
Tech institute to develop virtual library
The Newark-based New Jersey Institute of Technology received a grant to
develop a digital library of reference listings consolidated from
public, university and on-line digital libraries.
Led by Michael Bieber, PhD, associate professor of information systems
and co-director of the Collaborative Hypermedia Research Laboratory at
NJIT, a group of information scientists and librarians received last
month a total of more than $2 million in federal funding to develop
computer software to create the library.
Holdings in the virtual mega library will include the home library's
on-line catalog, databases and electronic special collections. Also
available will be the National Science Digital Library's on-line
educational resource network, the Science@NASA educational digital
library and books on sale at Amazon.com that pertain to any item a user
selects on the computer screen.
Miles buys AVselect.com
Moorestown-based Miles Technologies, a provider of business technologies
software, bought AVselect.com, a privately held Web development and
hosting services company based in London, Ontario.
AVselect.com provides network environments to host Web sites, e-mail,
business applications and other Web-related content. The company
specializes in delivering targeted services to the aviation business.
Philippines company picks StayinFront
Fairfield-based StayinFront, which makes CRM applications, decision
support tools and e-business systems, said AstraZeneca Philippines
selected StayinFront Visual Elk, a CRM platform, and StayinFront Pocket
Elk, the fully-featured Windows CE-based version of StayinFront Visual
Elk, for its Philippines sales force.
AstraZeneca is a pharmaceutical company with healthcare sales of over
$18.8 billion.
ZSL gains best-of-show award
Edison-based ZSL Inc, was honored with a Best of Show award in the
Program for Solution Providers category from New York's Technology
Week.
The award was given at TECHXNY, an IT business event that took place in
October. The Best of Show Awards Program recognizes the most innovative
personal technology and corporate IT products, solutions and programs at
the event.
