BCC gets $100K grant for tech center
Bellevue Community College has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the
Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges to establish
a state-wide Center for Information Technology Excellence.
A source for IT education, the center will serve as a statewide resource
for Washington's 34 community and technical colleges.
It will provide industry and educators with proven methodologies for IT
training, labor market information, customized curriculum and "best
practices" that will assist the community college system in meeting the
current and future needs of local and regional industry partners.
Graphics Server TEchnologies releases .NET 2.5
Seattle-based Graphics Server Technologies released Graphics Server
.NET 2.5.
This new upgrade provides innovative new capabilities including
interactive Designers and Widgets for .NET and ASP.NET developers.
Widgets add a variety of new graph types including gauge, meter, slider,
thermometer, stoplight, and LED. Designers are interactive popup editors
that allow developers to manipulate the properties of Widget and Chart
objects from within Visual Studio's design time environment.
Envision gains call-center award
Seattle-based Envision Telephony Inc., a provider of products for the
contact center and the enterprise, won a Best of ACCE 2004 Award for its
Envision Business Intelligence Portal and its business applications.
The applications include Contact Center Performance, Transaction
Management, Customer Experience Management and Enterprise Quality. Call
Center Magazine's editorial staff gave the award at the Annual Call
Center Exhibition (ACCE) 2004 in September.
AAA to use Fuze Q Suite
Bellevue-based Fuze Digital Solutions, an e-service software company,
reached an agreement with AAA to provide the Fuze Q Suite.
AAA will deploy the Fuze Q Suite solution on its internal and external
Web sites to provide faster and more efficient service to its AAA member
clubs, staff and other Web visitors.
The agreement also designates Fuze as a Preferred Partner of e-service
software to all AAA member clubs.
Sandlot Games picked by Microsoft
Bothell-based Sandlot Games said it was selected for inclusion in the
Microsoft Partner Pack for Windows XP, a deal that includes two of its
most popular games for distribution to Microsoft Windows XP customers.
The games, "Super Slyder" and "Serpentine," can be downloaded and
installed from www.microsoft.com/ windows/partnerpack.
Itron creates new software company
Spokane-based Itron Inc. said it has spun off some software assets to a
new entity called Pondera Engineers LLC that is made up of former Itron
engineers and software developers.
Itron licensed to the new company the technology that its customers use
for designing the infrastructure of certain portions of Itron's power
distribution systems.
Itron had announced in August that it would exit its transmission and
substation software-design businesses, but by licensing the technology
to Pondera the company ensured that its customers would still have
access to the technology.
NetMusic might merge with Audio Lunchbox
Seattle music-catalog company NetMusic Entertainment Corp. is
negotiating a buyout of competitor Audio Lunchbox of Los Angeles.
Launched in 1995 as a music-information site, NetMusic broke into
distribution earlier this year with the acquisition of Ultimate Jukebox
Inc.
