Zetta releases SnapWrite OS feature
Seattle-based Zetta Systems released its SnapWrite technology for Zetta
Server, an operating system that creates SAN solutions with features
such as thin provisioning, unlimited instantaneous snapshots, and remote
replication all using non-proprietary Intel hardware. SnapWrite restores
large terabyte databases instantly, as well as non-disruptive write
access to any snapshot.
Multiple SnapWrite copies can be created transparently with zero
downtime. SnapWrite is suitable for production environments such as
Exchange, SQL Server, Oracle, and data warehouses.
NetMusic.com buys Audio Lunchbox
Seattle-based NetMusic Entertainment Corp., a network of digital media,
acquired independent music giant Audio Lunchbox.
The combination creates the largest online collection of independent
music in the world, a licensed catalog of over one million tracks,
incorporating more than 4,000 labels.
Physician Micro Systems updates Total Practice Partner
Seattle-based Physician Micro Systems Inc. released Total Practice
Partner Version 8.1. Total Practice Partner is an EHR and practice
management package that includes Practice Partner Patient Records, Order
Entry, Medical Billing, and Appointment Scheduler.
Physician Micro Systems develops electronic health records, practice
management, and computerized physician order entry software.
Version 8.1 provides an increased level of integration between the
applications. Total Practice Partner runs on a single database, enabling
integration features such as common registration, shared internal
messaging, electronic encounter form generation, and other information
sharing between the applications. New versions of the Practice Partner
applications are now released together, as Total Practice Partner.
Boeing to try in-flight Internet
Connexion by Boeing this month will begin a trial on high-speed,
in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity for airline passengers.
The trial will be conducted by Vodafone and the Boeing Co. through its
Puget Sound-based Connexion by Boeing division. It will test the
Vodafone product with the Connexion by Boeing real-time, in-flight
Internet service.
eSkye teams with Conetto Winery
Walla Walla-based Conetto Winery Services Northwest signed an agreement
with eSkye Software, a provider of wine and spirits software and
Web-based solutions for the beverage industry.
The agreement enables CWS to bring the software to the wineries of the
Pacific Northwest. eSkye Software helps with vineyard management, winery
production and bottling, finished goods and inventory management, and
sales and distribution.
Onyx gains Australian government contract
Seattle-based Onyx Software Corp. was awarded a contract to improve
information management for the Australian government's Department of
Child Safety and Department of Communities.
Onyx expects to realize $1.2 million in revenue during the second
quarter of 2005 as a result of the contract.
The new Onyx system is designed to allow caseworkers to store and access
information about each child or young person in the child protection or
youth justice system, as well as their care givers. When the system is
introduced in mid-2005, it will replace a number of enterprise systems
and local systems that have evolved over time.
Media Distributors opens in Seattle
Studio City, Calif.-based Media Distributors, a distributor of
professional media products for the entertainment industry and for
corporate/enterprise markets, has expanded into the Seattle marketplace.
Media Distributors' portfolio includes motion picture film stock,
professional videotape, data media, storage drives, computer
peripherals, including duplication systems, and archive library labeling
services.

and Shawn Bunnell.
