Ceridian sells SourceWeb division
Bloomington-based Ceridian Corp. sold its SourceWeb division, which
makes payroll software, to RSM McGladrey Employer Services Inc. in
Alpharetta, Ga.
Ceridianis a human resources outsourcing company. The company said the
SourceWeb initiative had hurt its profitability in 2003 and 2004, but
expects the sale to improve earnings profitability starting in 2005.
SourceWeb was a small part of Ceridian's overall business, accounting
for $7 million of Ceridian's $1.3 billion in revenues in 2004.
Inetium buys Marco Software Group
Minneapolis-based technology consulting company Inetium Inc. announced
the acquisition of Marco's Software Solutions Group. Marco is a St.
Cloud based technology and office furniture company.
Inetium services are focused in the areas of IT planning, networking,
infrastructure, portals, customer relationship management, customized
business application development, and now business accounting solutions.
Evolving Solutions becomes Data Domain reseller
Data Domain of Palo Alto, Calif., said Minneapolis-based Evolving
Solutions, Inc. joined its corps of reseller business partners.
Data Domain makes enterprise data protection products. Evolving
Solutions is an open systems technology integration and professional
services firm.
The agreement means Evolving Solutions will market, distribute, service
and sell the Data Domain family of products, including the DD200 and its
Replicator add-on software package.
Centerfield,upgrades iSeries toolset
Rochester-based Centerfield Technology Inc. announced new functionality
and features to their iSeries toolset, delta/TRACKER, including five
SOX-compliant reporting options.
Configured as a plug-in to iSeries Operations Navigator, delta/TRACKER
now has 41 distinct data collection/reporting features that are both
customizable and actionable. Customers can buy one or all of the
existing 41 reporting features.
Mariner Software to sell journal product
Mariner Software, a Minneapolis publisher of applications for the
Macintosh computer, signed a deal to distribute MacJournal from
California-based Dan Schimpf Software.
The software, developed by Dan Schimpf, lets users maintain electronic
journals and publish online blogs. Mariner will sell the product through
its Web site, marinersoftware.com for about $30.
Mariner already sells word processing and spreadsheet programs that
compete with Microsoft Corp.'s Office suite and similar products
Ayamom unveils monitoring Web site
St. Paul-based Ayamon has developed a Web site where companies can find
professional monitoring solutions.
The site (www.findnetworkmonitoring.com), allows visitors to find
companies that provide outsourced network monitoring services using the
power and flexibility found in open source monitoring packages such as
Nagios, OpenNMS and Zabbix.
Visitors can search for monitoring providers using criteria such as
cost, monitoring software used, types of services offered and geographic
location of monitoring hardware.
RemotePipe teams with Charter
St. Louis-based broadband company Charter Communications Inc. teamed up
with Minneapolis-based RemotePipe, Inc. to enable Charter High-Speed
Internet Service customers to have both dial-up and wireless Internet
access while traveling.
Using RemotePipes' IP Roamer wireless fidelity service, residential and
commercial customers of Charter High-Speed Internet Service will have
national and international remote access to the Internet and corporate
networks.
With IP Roamer client software, a user enters a username and password to
access multiple globally-aggregated IP networks from leading providers,
including Level 3 and Sprint, for coverage extending to some 150
countries.
Charter and RemotePipes will co-brand the IP Roamer service and share
revenue.
