Entrigue releases script processor

Atlanta-based IT consultant Entrigue Systems Inc. released Script Start a logon script processor that simplifies desktop management for network administrators.

Script Start allows network administrators to centrally and remotely control and customize client machines during user logon. Script Start allows IT staff to manage desktop clients including mapping drives, installing printers, configuring Outlook profiles, modifying environment variables, adjusting internet proxy settings, and customizing client machines during user logon.

Thall joins Geocom board

Atlanta-based Geocom, a provider of fleet management and territory design products, announced the appointment of Neil Thall, CEO of Quebec-based Aldata Solution, to its board of directors. Thall's background includes over 30 years in distribution, technology, and executive management roles.

Before joining Aldata in January 2004, Thall served for five years as executive vice president at Manhattan Associates, where he oversaw global operations, including the companyâs consulting and implementation practices.

Checkfree cuts 200 jobs

Norcross-based Checkfree Corp. recently terminated approximately 200 employees in June. The company said some will be rehired, but didn't say when or how many.

As part of the move, the electronic commerce company said the electronic billing and payment operations at its Waterloo, Ontario, facility will be moved to CheckFree headquarters in Norcross by October.

Checkfree said it expects to incur total charges in its fourth quarter of fiscal 2005 of approximately $5.5 million for employee-related costs, including termination and other fringe benefits.

As of June 30, 2004, Checkfree employed approximately 3,000 full-time employees. In May it acquired Accurate Software, a United Kingdom-based provider of reconciliation, exception management, workflow, and business intelligence products.

FRS to buy software company

A subsidiary of Atlanta-based S1 Corp. plans to buy Providus Software Solutions Inc. of Nashua, N.H., in a deal worth about $800,000.

S1 said its FRS unit will acquire the intellectual property and certain assets of Providus' business from Salt Lake City-based Zions Bancorporation for $800,000 in cash plus additional fees to be paid later based on license sales. The deal was expected to close in July.

Charlotte, N.C.-based FRS will offer the Providus Risk Resolve operational risk management software as part of its FRS FinancialAnalytics suite of risk and regulatory compliance products. FRS also will establish an office in S1's existing Littleton, Mass., facility, which will serve as headquarters for the company's ORM business.

eQuorum joins SolidWorks partner program

Atlanta-based eQuorum Corp. announced its participation in the SolidWorks Solution Partner Program.

eQuorum integrates SolidWorks OEM technology for direct processing of SolidWorks files within its two flagship products: ImageSite, a Web-based PLM solution for the management, distribution, and collaboration of SolidWorks and other engineering content, as well as Plot Station, a network batch plotting product for SolidWorks and other CAD files.

ChoicePoint to work with IRS

Atlanta-based ChoicePoint's Government Services division reported a five-year contract, worth up to $20 million, to provide the IRS with access to ChoicePoint's automated delivery and processing of data files. The batch processing reduces the need for human intervention and provides customers the ability to generate relevant information on large populations of subjects in a timely fashion.

More than 25 federal agencies use ChoicePoint software and services. The company's May acquisition of EzGov Inc.'s Americas and Caribbean businesses bolstered its ability to develop customized batch processing and data delivery to the government.
