Airaya releases wireless bridges

Morgan Hill-based Airaya recently released CE type-approved 5.47-5.72 GHz outdoor bridges.

The Airaya WirelessGRID bridges enable video, data, and voice services to be extended and integrated into areas where E1/T1 data links and IP landline solutions are not feasible or cost-prohibitive.

Airaya makes outdoor wireless multipoint and backhaul bridges for high capacity public safety, service provider, education, government and enterprise networks.

GameSpy teams with Sony

Brisbane-based IGN Entertainment's GameSpy joined Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.'s tools and middleware license program, making its in-game technology available for PSP game title developers.

GameSpy technology lets game developers add sophisticated online gaming features to their PSP game titles just as they have with the PC and PS2 platforms.

The technology can extend the capabilities of online game titles by taking advantage of the interconnectivity provided by WiFi hotspots.

Hotspots to reach $3.46 billion in 2009

Worldwide wireless data hotspot revenue will rise from $969 million in 2005 to $3.46 billion in 2009, according to Arizona-based In-Stat. The growth will occur as the number of hotspot locations nearly doubles in size from 100,000 in 2005 to almost 200,000 by the end of 2009, the high-tech market research firm says.

The largest sector of the hotspot market will continue to be the cafˇ market (including coffee shops, fast food, and full service restaurants), which will grow from just over 40,000 venues worldwide in 2004 to just under 100,000 venues by 2009.

Spotster debuts business search engine

San Jose-based Spotster introduced a search engine targeted at the specific needs of business professionals looking for information within their industry. Spotster has introduced the service for three targeted segments including customer relationship management, integration Web services and radio frequency identification.

Spotster says the service is a B2B-tuned search engine for specific industry research, by creating and growing a targeted web of pages relevant to that industry.

Telsoft upgrades MegaCall

Glendale-based Telsoft Solutions announced an expanded offering to its MegaCall call tracking and accounting product. MegaCall helps call detail records (CDRs) of corporations to be in full compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA regulations.

Partnering with Western Telematic Inc. of Irvine, TelSoft has incorporated WTI's new NetLink II Secure Call Accounting Buffer to ensure complete security when remotely extracting and transferring CDRs, eliminating the expense of added equipment, software, or secure network connections and opening up the option of collecting CDRs via the Internet.

The new product enables secure real-time data collection from an entire enterprise via the corporate LAN/WAN as well as over the public Internet.

Iconix releases icon-based e-mail program

Mountain View-based Iconix introduced what it called the world's first icon-based,

visual e-mail identification solution for use across multiple platforms.

Iconix eMail ID software enhances popular e-mail clients by enabling them to display icons in their inboxes, allowing e-mail users to quickly spot e-mail from senders they trust. When an e-mail is received from a business that uses the Iconix Truemark service, the sending company's logo is displayed in the inbox sender column.

The client plug-in can be downloaded at www.iconix.com.

Blogtronix debuts corporate service

Oakland-based Blogtronix announced a new on-demand blogging service called Blogtronix Corporate.

The service is the first hosted platform to offer secure corporate blogging and business networking built on the latest Microsoft 2.0 .NET platform. Blogtronix Corporate provides a complete solution for creating, managing and distributing secure company groups, blogs, RSS feeds, and user profiles to enhance and broaden corporate communications between employees, clients, partners and investors.
