HLB Tautges Redpath picks LexisNexis software
Oak Brook-based LexisNexis Interface Software said accounting
firm HLB Tautges Redpath Ltd. selected InterAction as its customer
relationship management (CRM) program.
InterAction features
advanced Microsoft Outlook integration that enables users to update,
change and review information in the centralized repository by simply
using Outlook as they normally would. Users can use standard Outlook
functions to search for additional information about key individuals, be
they colleagues, customers or prospects. The Watch List feature within
InterAction enhances the traditional search-and-find features in a CRM
system by automatically alerting users when important meetings, phone
calls or other events occur with their clients or prospects.
Sumo Computer comes with LAMP
Palatine-based
Sumo Computer said a new Sumo Computer configured Kuro Box/HG is now
available with LAMP. LAMP is the acronym for Linux, Apache, MySQL, and
Perl/Python/PHP.
LAMP is the platform of choice for the
development and deployment of high performance Web applications. All
solid open-source applications in combination with one another provide
for a safe and reliable open-source application development environment
for the World Wide Web.
The Kuro Box/HG is a PowerPC based
computer server with a 266 MHz PPC 603e processor, 128 MB of memory, two
USB 2.0 interfaces and a Gigabit Ethernet interface. Sumo Computer has
included a Maxtor Diamond 10 250 Gb disk drive for high capacity MySQL
database support.
Illinois.com teams with Apartments.com
Chicago-based Illinois.com Inc., a search engine covering the

IT worker
confidence up in November
Confidence in the employment market
among IT workers rose marginally in November, as the sector's Hudson
Employment Index inched up 2.2 points to 101.1. Renewed confidence in
personal finances and heightened job satisfaction contributed to the
slight increase. Technology workers were about as optimistic as workers
overall; the composite Index held steady in November, slipping just .04
points to 100.1.
Nearly half (48 percent) of the workers in the IT
sector reported that their financial situations were improving in
November, up from 38 percent the previous month. There was a
six-percentage point drop to 35 percent in the number reporting that
their finances were getting worse. Job satisfaction rose five points to
76 percent in November.
However, the IT workforce was
significantly more likely to expect layoffs in November, as that figure
increased from 22 percent to 27 percent. The number of workers concerned
about job security rose five points to 32
percent.
Forensicon opens Milwaukee office
Forensicon, a computer forensic and electronic discovery firm
based in Chicago, opened a second office in downtown Milwaukee.
The decision to open a second location is the culmination of a
busy year for Forensicon. January of 2005 marked the five-year
anniversary of the company. In May, Forensicon took occupancy of an
expansive 4,000 square foot facility in the heart of the Chicago loop.
The new headquarters houses a state-of-the-art computer
laboratory and larger office space to accommodate staff expansion.
