The old Ramada Inn at Spaghetti Junction never looked this good. Forty million dollars in renovation and a sound business idea has turned the old hotel into an office complex with business center that includes a 20-seat movie theater, furnished office space for rent by the day, week, or month, conference space; and more. We recently spoke with Alfredo Mir, director of the Celebrity Business Center (CBC), about the new rental facility on Presidential Parkway.
Tell us about Celebrity Business Center.
Celebrity Business Club is a business center, located inside of Celebrity Business Suites, that people can use on demand. Whether you're an entrepreneur, or you own a home-based business, a small business, start-up, or a large corporation, our business center can help you set up a temporary office space or do business while you're away from your central office.
How does this fit in with Celebrity Business Suites (CBS)?
We bought a building that used to be a hotel and turned it in to an office complex. There are 15 floors in the building, with 18 units on each floor. We originally decided to sell these units for office space. The first floor of the Celebrity Business Suites is filled with retail shops, the second and the sixth floors are considered residential-or what we call "live and work" floors-where people have two adjacent spaces, one for living and one for working. The seventh floor contains the Celebrity Business Club. Floors eight through 15 contain units sold for commercial office use.
Overall, there are 212 units for sale, while the Celebrity Business Club contains seven furnished office units that can be rented for temporary use.
Who uses the Celebrity Business Center?
Sales people and agents are frequently on the go or are based in a different city than their employer's headquarters, and the CBC provides an array of business services they can use on an hourly, daily or monthly basis. Companies trying to cut overhead costs, but still keep a professional image, find that CBS's office space and CBC's business services are an ideal alternative that's economical and professional.
What specific services does CBC offer individuals and businesses?
We offer seven different types of membership packages that range in price from $40 per month to $225 per month. We can also customize a package to fit a particular business's needs. It's a month-to-month agreement that gives a company some flexibility.
Our basic membership gives an individual access to a variety of a la carte services such as access to our conference room, training room, day offices, LCD projectors, T1 Internet access, secretarial support, and more. We also offer services such as a dedicated telephone line with an answering service, where a live person answers your calls by your company's name and screens or forwards calls when necessary; mail service; and use of our address for your business.
What about a business planning a company conference?
If a business needs to use a conference room or even a private office, an advance phone call and a reservation is all we need. Everything will be set up in advance.
Any plans to expand the business center or CBS in the future?
We are planning to expand the idea around the country. We've set a goal of 40 locations, and our second is already planned and scheduled to be built in Marietta, Ga. Members of the Celebrity Business Club will be able to use any location around the country.
