Disable auto insert notification
Posted by : Stephen Bigelow
Tuesday, May 15, 2001 Disable auto insert notification The "auto insert notification" feature of your CD drive will automatically try to launch each disc's Autorun file, but you can easily disable this feature.

If you're in the habit of exchanging CDs frequently, you may be frustrated by your CD drive's Auto Insert Notification feature, which will automatically try to launch each disc's Autorun file. You can easily disable the drive's Auto Insert Notification feature so that discs will no longer launch. Click Start, Settings, and Control Panel. Double-click the System icon and select the Device Manager tab. Select your CD-ROM drive, click the Properties button, and then select the Settings tab. Clear the Auto Insert Notification check box, save your changes, and then reboot the PC if necessary. You can always re-enable Auto Insert Notification later if you wish.
