well there are sooooo…. many operating systems but the most popular are windows, mac os , and linux ...you also have solaris, bsd , minix, .... etc ..
mac os is most popular de facto standard with all media regardless if that is publishing or audio/video or design (web, fashion, house, lanscaping) – architecture - photography
unix os is most popular with big corporations running server farms
windows is most popular with individual users and office users..

which one you have ??

I still use windows XP . But i like your post where you clarify the reasons for using different OS. Yes no doubt people choose OS according to their necessity .
