The World\'s Largest Art Opening
Before the Internet was available, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco could only exhibit 3-4% of its collection at one time, leaving most of the works of art in storage. Following the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989 the museums began a mammoth project to take inventory of the entire collection, photographing and digitizing each piece of artwork.
