Here you can enjoy the amazing creativity and diversity of screensaver art, and appreciate what smart and creative people can accomplish when they have too much time on their hands. There are screensavers you can preview, and many more rated and searchable by topic. Many are animated; some have soundtracks; some are color-keyed for iMacs. iMacFloppy.com
This free web-based Virtual Floppy was designed originally for iMac users, but now is available for PCs also. Because of the iMac's lack of a floppy drive, many users have been left to try work-arounds like email attachments and FTP in order to transfer small files from one computer to another. This website gives users the functionality of a floppy disk by providing 3MB of space for storing and transferring files via the Internet. The Virtual Floppy solution is easier than using email or FTP because the interface is very simple to use; files don't have to be formatted to a particular program; there are no client programs or plug-ins to download; and files can be accessed any time, from anywhere, using a standard web browser. It takes only minutes to establish a user name and password and begin transferring files. If you need to work on a file from different computer locations and don't want to carry a floppy around, you can upload a file and access it from anywhere at any time. No extra software is required, just a current web browser. The interface is designed so beginners can understand it in under ten seconds. The service is secure and private, and free to all users. Another feature, for fun: with one click of the mouse, you can customize the website to match your computer's color.
