Y2000fix.com
Is it true that almost 90% of businesses and consumers who think
their PCs are millennium compliant are fooling themselves? This
website has plenty of helpful Y2K information for the PC user. There
are detailed explanations of how the Y2K date problem affects PCs,
along with free testing software and free hardware fix to download,
and more remediation software users can buy. The Year 2000 Consulting
Group address the computer date problem not just as a Y2K problem,
but a 21st century problem that will run well into the early years of
the next millennium. The PC2000 fix is based on a powerful, in-depth
review of object code technology, and there is a comprehensive report
and analysis here for interested techies. According to its authors
this tool, unlike BIOS-level TSR fixes, will fix the RTC (Real Time
Clock) and will also correct PCs that have the Award 4.50g BIOS
installed. http://Y2000fix.com/
Y2Kosher.com
This may be the first Jewish Y2K site. Here you can read about the
millennium bug and buy ready-made meals that don't have to be
refrigerated or cooked. You can even get a Shabbat meal; after all,
New Year's Eve 2000 will occur on Shabbat (although the Jewish year
is 5759). The items sold here are not only Y2K-compliant, but
certified kosher. There are articles and editorials, a cartoon, and
tips on Y2K preparation. http://www.y2kosher.com
DD2K: Due Diligence 2000
Are all new brand name computers Y2K-compliant? No, according to the
authors of this website; consumers are buying new computers based on
misleading advertising. The confusion arises from different ways of
defining compliance; here 10 distinct levels of system compliance are
defined, in an effort to establish a globally recognized set of
compliance classification standards. Another problem is inadequate
Y2K testing products. It is important to test both compliance of
individual components and the interaction between the components,
which is not done by many Y2K benchmark programs. This site has
in-depth information on Y2K PC classification, testing and
remediation from the legal, managerial, and technical standpoints.
Due Diligence 2000 remediation software is free to consumer
protection groups and PC manufacturers. http://www.due-diligence2000.com/

clock. This website challenges Mac users to find software that is not
Y2K-ready and report it. So far, only a few applications have been

of urgency about Y2K; to encourage citizens to work together in their
