NEW YORK--Volt Delta Resources, LLC (VoltDelta), announced today the availability of a voice-activated directions service to be offered to VoltDelta’s Directory Assistance (DA) customers on its hosted voice automation platform. VoltDelta is integrating technology and application components from Dial Directions with VoltDelta’s enhanced DA services to offer this new service extension. By integrating Dial Directions’ technology for voice-activated directions to any DA listing, VoltDelta secures its role as the premier platform provider for both enhanced directory assistance and local mobile search to wireless and wireline carriers.

Any carrier utilizing VoltDelta’s enhanced DA services augmented with Dial Directions’ technology can offer a “directions” option to callers. Callers just speak their starting address or location, and instantly receive turn-by-turn directions by text message to their destination listing.

"Our research revealed the mobile public's near-insatiable need for turn-by-turn directions," said Dan Miller, Sr. Analyst at Opus Research. "Access to Dial Directions' technology through VoltDelta's platform provides cause for more frequent calls for enhanced directory assistance, driving more revenue opportunities for providers."

The $7 billion/year DA industry in the U.S. is undergoing rapid changes, particularly with the growth of mobile wireless subscribers and usage. According to a November 2007 consumer survey on mobile 411 by Opus Research, over 50% of mobile 411 callers are seeking an address or driving directions. To meet this mobile DA demand and create new revenue channels for carriers, VoltDelta selected Dial Directions as a strategic technology partner to provide an efficient voice-driven user interface that delivers quick and accurate directions with any directory listing search for both paid and ad sponsored DA customers.

“A directions application provides a compelling call experience for consumers who dial directory assistance seeking information. VoltDelta’s infrastructure and database supports billions of DA calls annually for its telephone company carriers and Dial Directions’ technology will be fully integrated into our platform” said Brad Schorer, Senior Vice President of VoltDelta. “Dial Directions provides a voice-activated directions service that has received mass consumer acceptance and we believe it will create a differentiated DA service for our carrier clients.”

“Dial Directions is very pleased to work with VoltDelta on this industry-leading service for directory assistance,” stated Amit Desai, co-founder and chief product officer of Dial Directions. “Our strategic partnership demonstrates the potential to go beyond conventional DA with cutting-edge voice-activated location-based services that deliver quick and accurate information to mobile 411 users.”
