Atlantic Launches iceBar Waterproof Nano Speaker Case for Sharing iPod® Music While On-the-Go

SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif.— Atlantic Inc., a leading manufacturer and distributor of media storage products, today announced the iceBar Waterproof nano Speaker Case, a lightweight, pocket-sized sound system designed to share hours of iPod® music anywhere the user goes.

Easily stored for travel in purses, gym bags or beach bags, users can now listen to music in the shower, by the pool or hot tub, on the ski slopes, at the park, on road trips, at the office, or anywhere they want to share their iPod nano’s music and digital photos. The rugged case provides year-round protection. The iceBar also has a flip-out leg for conveniently stationing on a desk or countertop to listen at work or at home, and includes a removable nylon wrist strap for added security while toting the case.

The all-weather iceBar is portable, shatter-proof and, in case it is dropped in water, floats with an included miniature “buoy.”

Exclusively designed for the popular first- and second-generation iPod nano, the iceBar features waterproof speakers powered by dual, 32mm neodymium drivers. Constructed with the same material used for bulletproof glass, the shatterproof polycarbonate case and rubber corner bumpers protect the iPod nano. With an innovative silicone gasket and snap-locking latch, the iPod nano securely rests inside the case. Waterproof control via a click wheel membrane makes it easy to turn the iPod on and off, select songs or adjust the volume. An external mute button and power button allows users to instantly regulate audio and turn the case on or off.

Powered by three AAA batteries, the iceBar plays music or displays photos stored in the nano continuously for up to 18 hours. An external waterproof 3.5 mm stereo earphone jack offers the option for private listening. LEDs provide power-on and battery-low indications.

The iceBar is a sibling of the popular EGO Waterproof Sound Case for iPod, the first fully controllable waterproof iPod music player system that floats in water, which was awarded the 2007 CES Innovations Award for Excellence in Engineering and Design. The iceBar is designed to provide hours of on-the-go listening entertainment for the iPod nano in a smaller, lighter and more compact form factor.
