Bear with me; I'm not computer smart when it comes to how a computer is made and how it functions. If I come of as a complete idiot... oh well.
Anyway, the problem starts like this: my father gave me a computer that I had often used at his house and had no problems with. Now that I have it at my own place- and after several months of not using it myself- it seems to be having troubles functioning. To begin, the configuration screen comes up as soon as the computer is started. I investigated this and discovered several missing pieces (but these could have very well been missing beforehand and may not be the problem). They are as follows: Drive 2, 4, and 5, Onboard or USB CD-ROM Drive, Onboard or USB Floppy Drive, Onboard or USB SATA Hard Drive, Onboard or USB IDE Hard Drive.
Next, when I go to the desktop and place a CD into the computer, it does not recognize it. At first I thought it was something to do with the game I had tried to play- Go Oblivion- but I soon realized that it was every CD. Everything that I tried did not work.
Does anyone have any idea what the heck happened between my father's house and my own to do this?
