This website is dedicated to bringing patients and their families the latest
information on cancer diagnosis and treatment. The site provides links to major
cancer and AIDS resources on the Net, and up-to-date news on research breakthroughs.
In addition, there are resources on prevention, clinical trials, related books
and magazines, sites created by cancer patients, and cancer support groups.
There is an extensive database of articles on various forms of cancer, and users

Extended Care Information Network, Inc.
ElderConnect is a database of over 33,000 acute rehabilitation providers, retirement
communities, home health agencies, and providers of long-term nursing care.
ElderConnect originated as a database used by hospital discharge staff, and
now is available to the public. The ElderConnect system matches patient needs
with providers or agencies and supplies a professional information packet. This
database can find services by geographic location and type of care required.
Information on each provider includes address and contact person; rates and
availability; physician, hospital and health plan affiliations; payment sources
accepted; languages spoken; religious affiliations; activities of daily living
support; and care provided.

AIDS Education Global Information System (AEGIS)
This comprehensive HIV/AIDS knowledgebase contains nearly 500,000 fully-indexed,
cross-referenced, and searchable files. Find basic information here on HIV,
AIDS, and opportunistic infections, how to prevent exposure, and what to do
if you've been exposed. Learn about clinical care options, living with HIV,
legal issues, PWA travelers, and affected groups such as women, children, the
visually impaired, etc. The website has a Clinical Trials Finder for those who
want to participate in drug trials. News from major wire services is updated
24 hours a day, and a reading room has news archives dating back to 1983. In
addition, there are journals, a glossary, a timeline, and other references.
The library has more than 342,000 documents, including publications from the
government, patient groups, and other sources. Users can join in forums or subscribe
to a free email news service. AEGIS also hosts an FTP site at ftp.aegis.com.

KidsHealth.org
A brightly colored train set greets visitors to this health site for children
and teens. Created by physicians and educators as a resource for parents, professionals,
and children, KidsHealth has accurate, up-to-date information about growth,
food and fitness, childhood infections, immunizations, lab tests, medical and
surgical conditions, and the latest treatments. Kids will enjoy and learn from
the games and animations showing how the body works, the KidsVote health poll,
and many interactive articles, images, and sound clips about health topics.
A section called Feelings and Changes has articles for kids about emotions and
life changes. My Journal has stories from kids with serious illnesses. Food
and Fitness explains why exercise is good for you, how to eat for sports, and
other subjects, along with a collection of recipes. My Health explains different
health conditions, how medicines work, and definitions of medical words. Kids
will also find a section where they can get questions answered by health experts,
a section on safety, and information about why it's important to sit the right
way at the computer. In addition to the children's resources, there are many

Sapient Health Network
Sapient Health Network is an interactive health information service for people
with chronic and serious illnesses. Currently the health topics include asthma,
breast cancer, depression, diabetes, FMS and CFIDS, heart disease, obesity,
prostate cancer, and women's health. This website has some reading material
for the casual browser, but to really take advantage of its content, you have
to use the interactive features, filling out a health profile for each patient
(designated by online nickname), and getting specific information tailored to
the patient's needs. Registered members get a newsletter explaining all the
services available, and a customized reading list. The Library and Newsstand
provide the latest news on research and treatment, medical journals, and a dictionary.
Each registered user can collect important articles to keep in a personalized
Scrapbook. The site also has an Expert Advice section, and a searchable database
of health information. Other services offered here: a special women's health
section; exclusive reports by SHN medical writers; book reviews and columns;
chat rooms and message boards.
American Massage Therapy Association
The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) is the oldest and largest international
organization representing the massage therapy profession. This website is part
of its mission to advance the art, science and practice of massage therapy.
Articles here explain how massage therapy works physiologically to soothe tired,
aching muscules, correct imbalances, counteract stress, and promote healing.
The site includes a basic introduction to massage therapy and its benefits for

New York Online Access to Health is a guide to the latest health information

sites on the Internet. NOAH is currently focused on thirteen main health topics:
