10Rate Announces its Top 10 Best Grills for 2012; Weber, Char-Griller and Fire Sense Receive for Quality, Value and Budget Awards

2. Easy-to-clean grates of durable material like cast iron
3. An air-tight lid
4. Side tables for convenient food preparation
5. Precise temperature control with a handy gauge
6. Ample cooking area space
7. A removable drip tray
8. Even heat distribution
9. Heat-resistant handles

The annual Top 10 Best Grills 2012 awards list was led by the Weber 6621001 winning the Best Quality spot with a near perfect 9.5 out of 10 rating. The review noted that it “heats up to 700 degrees F in under 10 minutes.” According to the article, several strong features of the grill were stated as follows: “The porcelain-enameled cast iron grates are excellent at searing meats, fish, and vegetables. A nice bonus feature that allows you to multitask is the mounted side burner that has 12,000 BTUs. There’s more than enough space in this cavernous grill to hold large quantities of food.”

10Rate’s editors also gave the Grills’ Best Value award to the Char-Griller 2123, with the review calling the charcoal grill and smoker “the perfect size for the average family.” The review went on to mention, “The main grill has 435 square inches and the additional warming rack adds another 200 square inches. We liked being able to adjust the distance between the grates and the charcoal and having a heat gauge that makes maintaining the temperature easy.”

Additionally, the Best Budget award from the Best Grill Reviews was the Fire Sense 60508 for which Rowland noted, “We were surprised by how sturdy it is when set up, given how lightweight the materials are. In the folded state, it’s not as durable as it could be, but it’s still convenient for picnics and road trips. We wish cleanup were easier—it lacks a tray to catch falling ash. However, for only $27.19, it grills food surprisingly well.”

Weber was the only brand listed for multiple models on the Comparison Grill Ratings, receiving three separate recognitions. Although the brand itself only received one distinction, the George Foreman GGR50B Review stated the following for its 8.5 of possible 10 rating: “You can set up the grill either on a countertop or on its pedestal and simply plug it in to get started. The nonstick grill has a gentle slope that helps drain grease and fat down into a removable tray, so cleanup is easy. If you’re looking for a space saving alternative to a charcoal grill or even a backup grill that you can use indoors on rainy days, then you’ll appreciate the nice searing performance of this George Foreman model.” conducts reviews in various product and services categories and publishes “Expert Top 10 Lists for Everything in your life.” The company’s web site strives to “Make it Easy” to select from the hundreds of choices there are in the product and service market place.
