July 2011 Weekly Credit Card Rate Report

AUSTIN, Texas July 6, 2011

The average is composed of 100 of the most popular credit cards in the country, including cards from dozens of leading U.S. issuers and representing every card category. Introductory (teaser) rates are not included in the calculation. Of the nine categories we track, two rose, while the other seven were unchanged.

YANGAROO's technology team worked closely with the TV broadcasters and the content owners to refine the DMDS process for digitally distributing SD and HD television broadcast-quality video. DMDS also transcodes the broadcast file for online availability for streaming and provision of a frame-accurate preview quality version of the file with the time-code burned in, which improves reviewing and editing processes. The television broadcast-quality video file can be easily integrated into Online Editing Suites, On-Air Playback Servers and stored in a Digital Archive Server. These files are 50mbit IMX in an MXF OP1a container that maintain both time-code and closed captioning for the underlying video.

Facebook Tweaks Terms for Using Its Virtual Money After Antitrust Complaint; FTC Action Still Essential, Consumer Watchdog Says

Facebook's revised terms still require developers to use Facebook Credits exclusively to sell virtual goods in their games and to pay an exorbitant 30% fee for redeeming credits so they can be paid. Facebook also claims the right to change the Facebook Credits terms at any time.

The revised rule says, "You may not charge a logged-in Facebook user of your game app on Facebook a higher price in Credits for an item, virtual currency, or service than you would charge a logged-in Facebook user on another platform or service via another payment method."

Thus, a developer now can offer price competition on other platforms as long as the player isn't logged into Facebook.
