Asymblix, the leading provider of OSP cabinet retrofit solutions, announced today the availability of several new features and products related to its Retrofit Heat Exchanger (RHX) and OSP cabinet retrofit kits.
The RHX, one of the Telecom industry’s most flexible OSP cabinet retrofit cooling solutions, now boasts two highly requested features — a temperature-sensing, variable speed fan controller (VSC) and a new hinged intake.
Paving the way for deployment in urban settings closer to residential homes and businesses, the VSC permits less fan noise at lower temperatures by reducing fan speed but also adds prolonged fan life, reduced power consumption, and the ability to maintain internal cabinet airflow across a wider temperature range to its list of benefits.
The Hinged Intake, an especially valuable feature for anyone that has ever struggled with the upkeep of a high-capacity heat exchanger, enables the outer loop air inlet to swing down for ease of cleaning and maintenance, making the process of clearing the inlet more thorough and much less time consuming – a boon to those deploying the RHX in rural areas where surroundings often abound with airborne contaminants.
In parallel to the new feature developments, Asymblix was able to increase the capacity of its current 1200 Watt RHX to 1400 Watts. Having started life as a 1000 Watt unit, the bump up to 1400 Watts opened the door for the reintroduction of a 1000 Watt unit at an even lower price, expanding the model range into two capacity ranges for greater flexibility.
All of the new RHX features and models come with one more additional benefit — a substantial reduction in price! Greater volumes have resulted in Asymblix being able to reduce costs which it is passing onto customers as savings.
Also making its debut in the Asymblix lineup is a new lightning protection panel for high-speed services. The two rack unit high, 100 pair, Category-5 protection panel is fully assembled in the USA using high-quality components and industry-best wiring practices. The result is a pro-panel with low cross talk and insertion loss, able to support the full suite of high speed services including T1, ADSL2+, VDSL2 and Ethernet in addition to standard POTS.
The new Cat-5 pro-panel will come in a selection of standard tail lengths with RJ-21, MS2 and 710 connector options; and custom cable lengths will also be available on request. Asymblix plans to integrate the Cat-5 pro panel into its full line of OSP cabinet retrofit kits, extending its versatility even further.
