The Blooms theme has been selling big for Tumblr store, The Layout Shop. Sales for the theme saw significant boosts entering the new year. This comes as a promising development for the site as it looks toward a major overhaul in the coming months.
Blooms is a Tumblr theme presented in a grid format that features Infinite Scroll and Lightboxes for user permalinks. The theme is ideal for Tumblr sites that feature many photos and pictures. Users also have the option of a traditional List View over the default Grid View. Blooms is available through the site for $2.99.
Sales of the Blooms theme have steadily increased since the start of 2012, jumping 900% from December 2011 to January 2012, and rising 33% more from January 2012 to February 2012.
On the other hand, the Philosophien theme has steadily dropped since the start of the year. Sales in January 2012 have gone down by 30% from December 2011. Sales dipped further by 39% from January 2012 to February 2012.
This may be attributed to the two themes’ prices. It is possible that the drop in sales of the Philisophien theme (priced at $3.99) compared to the rise in sales of the Blooms theme may be caused by its higher price.
This difference is also possibly caused by a gradual shift if Tumblr users’ tastes in blogging. The Blooms theme is optimized for viewing photos while the Philosophien theme, while presented in a grid, is better suited for text-based blog posts.
Other themes from The Layout Shop, like Storyteller ($2.99), Lux ($10), and Rosewood ($10) have remained relatively consistent in sales.
This boost in sales looks to further push the momentum of The Layout Shop as it proceeds with improvements on the entire website. In the coming months, the site will be having an updated look and design, along with new additional themes to follow.
The Layout Shop is an online Tumblr theme store specializing in professionally-made and customizable, premier themes for Tumblr.
