Orlando, Fla. (PRWEB) April 11, 2012
Orlando businessman Neal Kimball, CEO and President of The Kimball Companies, LLC, has been awarded the distinguished 2012 Entrepreneurial Success Award for the District, State, and Region. The award, announced by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) North Florida District, in March, qualifies Mr. Kimball as a candidate for the National award for Entrepreneurial Success that will be announced by the SBA at the National Small Business Week Celebration, May 20-26, 2012, in Washington, DC.
To qualify for the award, individuals must own and operate businesses initially launched as small businesses according to SBA size standards and subsequently developed into large businesses; and they must have received SBA assistance to help the businesses grow.
“We are honored and excited to be recognized for our work in building stronger families and individuals,” said Kimball. “Our business grew from our own desire to make the most of our family’s time together, and from there we’ve been able to help other families do the same, while impacting the education and social needs of our children.”
The Kimball Companies is the foremost authority on family dynamics, and the creator of communication vehicles that enhance family meals to better serve the American family and build a healthier U.S.A. Ten years ago, Neal and Jill Kimball recognized a growing trend that families were spending less time together. This concern, coupled with their desire to maximize their own family’s time together at the table, prompted them to create Family Table Time, a system for organizing and holding memorable family meetings. Believing that helping “economically poor” children who are also experiencing academic difficulty is a way to make families stronger, A+ Tutor U was founded to provide free tutoring to children. Over a period of seven years, A+ Tutor U has served over 30,000 children in Florida and Washington, DC under the No Child Left Behind federal program. This initiative has proven to work hand in hand with developing core values of children and families. By addressing the heart of the matter, Kimball used his creativity and drive to expand Family Table Time and A+ Tutor U to include: School House to Your House, and FAMILYing; the businesses that comprise The Kimball Companies.
“This award represents the efforts of many families who have joined in The Kimball Companies‘ philosophy, and used one or more of our resources to learn how best to utilize and make opportunities for strengthening their own families,” said Kimball.
“Whether it’s Family Table Time, A+ Tutor U, School House to Your House, or FAMILYing The Kimball Companies‘ high quality products are making a true difference for improving family dynamics.”
Kimball and other Small Business winners will be honored by UCF’s Small Business Development Center at a special presentation in Orlando at the Citrus Club on May 15.
