CommVault Joins Iron Mountain Developer Program For Cloud Storage Integration

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), an information management services company, today announced that CommVault has joined the Iron Mountain Developer Program to integrate its Simpana® software with Iron Mountain’s Archive Services Platform. Once the integration is completed, CommVault customers will have access to Iron Mountain’s enterprise-class cloud storage. The Developer Program allows application providers like CommVault to integrate their solutions with Iron Mountain’s cloud archiving services so they can in turn provide their customers with not only secure storage but with added services for accessing and leveraging that data.

“Security and reliability continue to be key issues for customers and we believe partnerships such as the one formed between CommVault and Iron Mountain will alleviate the concerns of enterprises”

“As our customers look to take advantage of the cloud as another tier of storage, Iron Mountain’s trusted and secure Archive Services Platform helps them meet their long-term data management, archiving and retention needs,” said David West, vice president of marketing and business development at CommVault. “The combination of Iron Mountain’s proven reliability and the CommVault® Simpana software cloud storage connector will give joint customers a powerful option to move on-premises backup and archive data securely, reliably and transparently into, and out of, the Iron Mountain Archive Services Platform.”

CommVault is the latest application provider to join the Developer Program since Iron Mountain introduced its Archive Services Platform to developers and independent software vendors in Oct. 2009. Customers of CommVault’s cloud-optimized Simpana software will have access to secure, offsite data storage, eliminating the need for custom scripting or disparate cloud gateway devices.

“Iron Mountain’s Archive Services Platform allows application providers to extend our enterprise-class security and reliability to their software developer end-users, giving them the assurance that their data is both protected and easily accessed via our related information management services,” said Todd Koopersmith, vice president of strategic alliances for Iron Mountain. “We are pleased that CommVault has chosen to join our Developer Program, and we view this as further validation that security matters when it comes to protecting corporate data in the cloud.”

“Security and reliability continue to be key issues for customers and we believe partnerships such as the one formed between CommVault and Iron Mountain will alleviate the concerns of enterprises,” said Henry Baltazar, Analyst for The 451 Group. “Iron Mountain’s Developer Program gives application providers the security and privacy they require to confidently offer cloud storage to enterprises.”

The Iron Mountain Developer Program offers application developers seamless integration with the Company’s Archive Services Platform through an Application Programming Interface (API) for secure, off-site long-term data storage for data-intensive applications, as well as information management functionality such as advanced indexing, search and retrieval capabilities and retention and destruction.
