New York, NY (PRWEB) July 30, 2012
In June, IBM announced an upgraded version of their Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) software shortly after a study cited high levels of satisfaction amongst users of IBM application lifecycle management software. These boons for IBM Rational drove a surge in the complementary consulting industry, with some companies seeing massive upticks in web traffic and inquiries.
IBM Rational is based on the collaborative Jazz platform and includes a suite of products. The most recent version from IBM combines multiple products – including IBM Rational Team Concert, IBM Rational Requirements Composer, and IBM Rational Quality Manager – into one simple package. The new release is the result of IBM’s focus on creating cloud-based solutions that will enable companies to be more agile and implement more cost-effective development, testing, and delivery. The new offerings from IBM’s latest release include a cloud-based development and testing infrastructure (IBM SmartCloud Enterprise) and a pilot program for pay-as-you-go cloud-based design, development, build, testing, and deployment services (IBM SmartCloud Application Services).
In addition to the innovative new offerings, IBM was also buoyed by the recent announcement of an independent study of over 1200 developers that showed that IBM Rational users are, “more satisfied with its features and capabilities than users of any other major software development platform.” The research was conducted by Evans Data as part of their annual User's Choice Software Development Platform survey, and found that IBM Rational rated highest in several categories, including application modeling, parallel programming, multiple-server support and remote development. With the best overall score, IBM Rational outclassed eight other major competitors, including Microsoft Visual Studio, NetWeaver, JDeveloper, and others.
As a result of these recent developments, there has been a marked uptick in interest in IBM Rational and in software consulting services that teach clients how to get the most out of their IBM Rational investment. One such company which has been affected by the surge is Arcisphere Technologies, a new mid-Atlantic based entrant to the IBM Rational Consulting industry.
In the past month, Arcisphere has tracked increases in website traffic, Google search volume, and other search metrics. One senior official commented, “Being in the industry for the past 20 years, we were well aware of the quality of the IBM Rational suite, but in the last month it’s seemed like a lot more companies have caught on. Our search traffic is way up and on the qualitative side, it felt like we saw a lot more inquiries at recent conferences and industry events, about everything from IBM Rational ClearCase staffing to Build Forge training to lifecycle management support.”
As companies strive to gain a competitive edge in today’s cutthroat market, IBM Rational is helping development teams to iterate faster and produce better products at a lower cost. The industry is expecting continued success riding on the heels of the impressive new offerings from IBM and proven efficacy of IBM Rational.
