Correction: Biacore users can trade in for a new, high-performance Reichert4SPR instrument plus services, at the same service charge they are currently paying.
Buffalo, New York (PRWEB) December 15, 2016
(NOTE: Reichert’s prior press release has been updated to clarify that service has not been discontinued for Biacore 3000, T100, or T200, although the Biacore 3000 and T100 models are no longer offered for sale by their manufacturer.)
Reichert Technologies – Life Sciences, a business unit of AMETEK Ultra Precision Technologies, announced that, it is now offering a new Reichert4SPR four-channel surface plasmon resonance instrument to Biacore users for the price of their service agreement.
The unprecedented offer in the SPR industry allows a trade-in of a Biacore 2000, 3000, T100 or T200 for a new four-channel Reichert4SPR. Discontinuance of support for the Biacore 2000 has been announced; the Biacore 3000 and T100 instruments are no longer being sold, and users are seeking alternative instruments with better performance.
The Reichert service agreement includes the new Reichert4SPR instrument, plus installation, maintenance, and training. If Biacore users had GxP service included, the new agreement will include that service as well. The service charge also includes Reichert’s customer service, considered by many to be the best in the surface plasmon resonance industry.
“We are excited to announce this arrangement, which makes a valuable alternative available to Biacore users who are facing aging instruments, and in some cases, discontinued services,” said Jeff Bornheim, Director of Analytical Instruments at Reichert. “This offer is an easier alternative to purchasing a new instrument, since paying the same service charge doesn’t require any new grants or capital budgets.”
Introduced in 2015, The Reichert4SPR features:
- More sensitive, flexible operations
- Capacity to work with crude samples including lysates, whole cells, and serum
- Better performance than Biacore 2000, 3000, and T100
- Easy-to use intuitive interface with new streamlined software
- 30 to 50 percent reduction in sensor chip costs
This offer is available only for a limited time. More information on the Reichert trade-in offer and services is available at http://www.reichertspr.com/tradein/
About Reichert’s Full Line of SPR Systems
Reichert’s SPR systems provide the diverse interests of academia and industry with the most cost-effective, sensitive and flexible platforms in today’s marketplace. These systems supply a comprehensive characterization of molecular interactions that are important to researchers in numerous scientific disciplines, including drug discovery. These interactions include but are not limited to protein–protein, protein–peptide, protein–nucleic acid and protein–small molecule.
Reichert systems generate information-rich data to determine such key parameters as binding association and dissociation rate constants (kinetics), equilibrium (affinity) constants, thermodynamics and concentration. The systems give invaluable insight into the dynamics of protein-binding assays that govern chemical and biological processes. The new four-channel Reichert4SPR system’s leading technology delivers lower baseline drift and improved sensitivity.
About Reichert Life Sciences
Reichert Life Sciences’ entry into the design and manufacturing of Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) instrumentation began in 1997 with efforts to incorporate bio-sensing technology into Reichert’s core critical angle refractometer products. This technology built upon a key Reichert patent (US Patent #4,640,616) describing a digital reflected light refractometer incorporating a charge-coupled device to sense reflected light intensity over a range of angles covering a refractive index range from 1.33 to 1.52. Since then, Reichert has utilized its applications knowledge to develop a full line of SPR systems that push the limits of detection and sensitivity in label-free interaction analysis with technology that drives research from discovery to development to production. Since Reichert’s first SPR device was sold in 2000, the company’s equipment has been used in hundreds of published studies.
