Dade Moeller Re-Names Training Academy to Reflect Growth, Diversification

Leading environmental services firm Dade Moeller announces the re-naming of its training division to reflect the company’s success in the industrial hygiene and occupational safety and health fields and its new offering of training courses in these topical areas. Formerly known as Dade Moeller Radiation Safety Academy, the firm’s training now will be conducted under the name Dade Moeller Training Academy with the tagline “Specializing in Radiation and Occupational Safety Training.”

“Much of our recent growth has been attributed to non-radiation-related worker safety and environmental work,” said Dade Moeller President David McCormack. “We are excited to widen our Training Academy student base and share our expertise in the fields of industrial hygiene and worker safety and health.”

New for the 2012 calendar year, Dade Moeller Training Academy is offering seven worker safety courses including: Industrial Hygiene Fundamentals for Non-Industrial Hygienists, Accident Investigation, Process Safety Management/Risk Management Planning, OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety, OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Safety, National Fire Protection Association 101 Occupancies, and Facilities Hazards Assessments and Analysis.

The Dade Moeller Training Academy’s 2012 Course Catalog, mailed to more than 27,000 individuals, is available at Also online is information about the training centers, an interactive course calendar, testimonials from previous students, and a Frequently Asked Questions page.

Dade Moeller Training Academy currently offers 31 courses in Las Vegas, Nev.; Gaithersburg, Md.; Oak Ridge, Tenn.; Acton, Mass.; and Richland, Wash. The Training Academy also offers 28 courses online through its computer-based training program, and faculty teach courses on-site to meet group training needs. New courses developed throughout the year will be posted on the Training Academy website.

Originally founded by certified health physicist Raymond Johnson in 1984 under the name Communications Sciences Institute, the training company later became known as Radiation Safety Academy. Dade Moeller acquired the Academy in 2007. Since its founding, the Training Academy has successfully trained more than 11,200 professionals in all areas of radiation safety.
