PlugVolt, a leader in delivering interactive online webinars and seminar events to promote global development efforts in advancing energy storage technologies, is hosting a Battery Seminar with NextEnergy on October 27-28, 2015 in Detroit.

The PlugVolt Battery Seminar includes sessions with subject matter experts from more than 30 companies including A123 Systems, Ambri, BASF, Bosch, Boston Power, DTE Energy, Duke Energy, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ford, General Motors, Greensmith EMS, Intertek, Johnson Controls, LG Chem, Navigant Research, NEC Energy Solutions, Nissan North America, Oak Ridge National Labs, Ricardo, Sakti3, Siemens, Solid Power Battery, University of Illinois, University of Michigan, Urban Electric Power, Valeo, Voltaiq, Wildcat Discovery, Xalt Energy, Xerion Advanced Battery and more. Sessions will discuss recent materials science and R&D advancements, hottest trends and cutting-edge developments in the increasing role of software analytics and ‘big data’ in energy storage, and industry updates from suppliers, end users and multinational stakeholders. A full event agenda including a list of subject matter experts can be found here.

“The growing interest, participation and support shown to our seminars by some of the world’s leading utilities, global automotive OEMs, tier 1 system developers, battery manufacturers, suppliers and researchers is impressive,” said JC Soman, Director of Marketing at PlugVolt. “NextEnergy is a great location for this event. They’ve done great work in the energy storage and electric vehicle space, and have offered to include tours to demonstrate some ideas of what can be done on a larger scale if the right development partnerships are formed.”

The tours will feature NextHome, a residential home featuring combining smart home, distributed generation and direct current technologies, which operates as a “living lab” within NextEnergy’s testing and validation platforms and allows industry partners to leverage multiple Internet of Things frameworks and a residential microgrid. NextEnergy will also showcase “what’s next” in vehicle-to-home, vehicle-to-building and vehicle-to-grid technologies, as well as demonstrate residential and community energy storage applications.

“By sharing our space and some of our demonstrations, we hope to inspire future collaboration to advance energy storage solutions in the utility and automotive markets,” said Kelly Jezierski, Director of Energy Storage at NextEnergy. “We’re looking forward to collaborating with PlugVolt on their October 2015 Battery Seminar.”

All registered event attendees will be automatically enrolled in a raffle drawing with a chance to win an Apple iPad®. For more information or to register for the PlugVolt Battery Seminar, visit
