Essay Examining "The Paradox of Thrift" Just Released

West Des Moines, IA (PRWEB) August 29, 2012

A new essay has just been released at examining "the paradox of thrift". This concept states that while saving/thrift is good for an individual, it will lead to calamity if a large portion of society saves at the same time.

This is a topical issue as concerns about exactly how serious the economic problems are in Europe are being constantly debated. Whether the government is taking the proper steps to prevent similar problems in the US is also a frequently discussed topic. Many solutions/approaches have been, or are being, proposed and the "average voter" may feel overwhelmed by all the conflicting opinions. A better understanding of this frequently cited cited principle will help voters form a more objective opinion on what economic policies make the most sense.

The campaign season is heating up and a better understanding of the role of savings in an economy will assist voters in deciding what main policy goals the US should try to achieve over the next four years.

This essay was written by Ray Wu, author of Anti Social: Rebooting Capitalism and the American Dream, a book that examines similar concepts in further detail.
