FamilyViewed.com launched just two months ago but has already upgraded to a new look and feel!
FamilyViewed.com was started by two entrepreneurs (Marty Ferdous and Michele Knowlton) to give families an on-line tool to use to help manage what parents are probably already doing with their kids and don’t even know it. As part of the launch, they contracted with another entrepreneurial firm started by a different duo – Jessica Bern and Deb Anderson of Two Funny Brains. Both firms are small businesses just starting out. FamilyViewed.com was looking for someone to help them spread the word about their new product. Two Funny Brains is a digital content company which uses humor to promote brands. A match made in heaven. The video produced to promote the new product is very funny and gets the message across. Watch as the girl negotiates with her mom to get a new puppy.
Anyone who has ever started a company, been part of a big project or even a little one should know that sometimes you need to adjust your original plans. One look at FamilyViewed.com by Two Funny Brains gave them some very valuable insight into what could be done better. That was even before they contracted together. The FamilyViewed.com home page had some cartoon characters developed especially for the site. Marty and Michele loved those characters but based on the suggestion of Jessica and Deb decided the look and feel was not “cool” enough. Now the homepage has been revamped. The instruction video which they worked on so carefully also needed to be shorter and more to the point. That’s been upgraded too.
Lesson learned: When starting a project (even at home) or starting a new business keep your mind open to new ideas and listen carefully. You’re never too old or too entrenched in original ideas to change.
