DirectCD discs have quickly become entrenched as a versatile standard for recording and reading rewritable CDs, making some older, MultiRead CD-ROM drives unable to read UDF-formatted CD-RW discs (i.e., discs written with DirectCD). Luckily, you can install a UDF Reader utility that can augment your older CD-ROM and allow it to read those UDF discs. Acquire the latest version of Roxio’s UDF Reader (udfread_v103-115_inst.exe). Once installed, the UDF Reader is constantly active in the background, waiting for you to mount a UDF disc. Keep in mind that the UDF Reader (version 1.03) is included with DirectCD 3.0, so if you have 3.0 or later you do not need to download this file. DirectCD 3.01 includes UDF Reader version 1.03.
