Hello-Hello Language Learning Apps Now Available for Kindle Fire Tablet PC

These apps will allow people to develop a solid foundation of conversational skills for languages such as English, Spanish, French, and Mandarin Chinese, said Sarah Gontijo, Hello-Hello's founder and CEO.

The launch of new Kindle Fire app builds upon the earlier success Hello-Hello has had in developing apps for other technology platforms, including Apple's iPad, Gontijo said. Hello-Hello, we are committed to making our content available to the widest audience possible, which is why we are pleased that Kindle Fire users will now have access to our content, she added.

These apps rely on a research-based methodology that uses dialogue based on realistic situations that business people, travelers, or students will find useful to help them be comfortable with their target language, Gontijo said. Hello-Hello content was developed in collaboration with the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL). The organization is the world's largest and most respected organization for language teachers and professionals.

Gontijo said the apps feature the voices of native speakers, which is especially important when people are learning a new language. The more comfortable people are with hearing a new language, the easier it will be for them to speak it.

She also noted that mobile apps are becoming a vital tool for people who want to learn new skills. Technology research firm Gartner predicts that people will download 17.7 billion apps by the end of the 2011, a 117% increase from a year ago.

Hello-Hello also offers a variety of language courses for the iPad & iPhone:

Basic Courses: The most comprehensive tool for vocabulary training till date. The courses contain more than 1,000 words and phrases plus seven different modules for learning. There are exercises designed specifically to practice listening, reading, writing and speaking skills. The learning process is enhanced using word games, self-voice recording and spelling check.

Kids App: Hello-Hello Kids version 1.0 allows children to learn new languages while solidifying their initial mathematical base (i.e., strengthening the knowledge of the number system from 1 to 20). The application offers an engaging playful self-teaching platform with an animation-enriched interface, which combines visual and audio clues for learning numbers with beautiful sound effects.
