A new LED sign provided by Dragonfly Signs and manufacturing partner Vantage LED was recently installed at Lakeside Vision in Hawley, PA. The sign has proven to be beneficial for both the Optometry practice and local community by providing a versatile and dynamic way to communicate with the public.
Lakeside Vision is a family run Optometric practice serving the Hawley and surrounding Lake Wallenpaupack areas. Founded by Dr. Amy Neal in 2002 with a strong focus on patient service and trust, husband and fellow optometrist Dr. Michael Neal joined the team in 2008 bringing additional expertise in cutting edge technology and procedures.
They received “HITECH” certification in March from the US Department of Health and Human Services, currently the only practice to do so in the area. This program certifies businesses that utilize the latest health information technology to keep records and operations paperless, secure and accurate. They have also invested in the best examination equipment and are always looking for new technology to improve the patient experience.
“Our practice is a pioneer in ocular digital imaging which detects early signs of infection or disease.” explained Dr. Neal, adding “Many systemic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes affect the eye. We use our digital LED sign to help educate the public on eye health issues such as these.”
By investing in an LED sign, Dr. Neal continues this pioneering spirit. Lakeside Vision uses the sign to communicate with potential patients and the community in general by providing space for local events like the IGA Kids Fest in June, or the Wally Lake Fest held on Lake Wallenpaupack in August.
“From the beginning, we have always planned on having a portion of the sign available for the community.” explained Dr. Neal.
They had a unique opportunity to demonstrate this commitment during the Independence Day celebrations last month. Unexpected weather caused the organizers for the local 4th of July fireworks show to reschedule the event. There wasn’t much time to notify the public, so they reached out to whomever they could to spread the word, including Lakeside Vision.
“We had 2 days notice, but we were able to get a dynamic professional message created and on the sign within 2 hours [using Dragonfly’s content creation service].” He said. “Without an LED sign, that would be impossible.”
Because their practice focuses on patient service and professionalism, they wanted to use an LED sign supplier with the same values. After a lot of research both local and online, they found Dragonfly signs, a like-minded business with the same attitude taking pride in their product and services.

“That kind of flexibility just doesn’t exist in traditional media.” he said “ You can’t run a different daily special on the radio every single day!”
Overall, the LED sign has been a positive experience for all involved. A great local business working together to provide better services to the community has always been a recipe for success. Dr. Neal continues to look to the future and expects the sign to continue to help grow the practice and he expects to continue using LED signs to support this growth.
